USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Mahindra Scorpio-N, even in its 4x2 configuration, is a formidable vehicle that ticks many boxes for those seeking a robust and feature-rich SUV. My experience with the Scorpio-N has been overwhelmingly positive, particularly in its ability to handle both urban and rural terrain with ease. The vehicles suspension is commendably smooth, making it feel like youre floating over rough patches, and the steering is butter-smooth, making driving a breeze. The design, though somewhat polarizing, is practical and includes subtle Scorpion-themed elements that add to its unique appeal. However, some users have noted issues such as the lack of AC vents in the third row and the occasional annoyance of the auto start-stop feature. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Scorpio-N stands out as a solid choice for those needing a reliable, powerful, and comfortable SUV.
Price
In India, the Mahindra Scorpio-N 4x2 variant is priced competitively. The ex-showroom price for the base model starts around 12 lakhs, while the top-of-the-line Z8L model can go up to around 20 lakhs. On-road prices, including taxes, registration, and insurance, can range from approximately 14 lakhs to 23 lakhs, depending on the state and local taxes. This pricing makes the Scorpio-N an attractive option in its segment, offering a blend of modern features, robust build quality, and strong performance at a relatively affordable price point.
Latest Updates
Tuesday, 21 May 2024 03:57 AM The Scorpio N Adventure Edition, currently available in South Africa, features a 2.2L Turbo Diesel engine producing 172 bhp and 400 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox and a 4x4 transfer case. If this configuration makes it to India, it would significantly boost the vehicles off-road capabilities. I believe this powertrain would be a hit among Indian adventure seekers.
Tuesday, 21 May 2024 04:17 AM The Adventure Edition of the Scorpio N includes several visual and functional updates such as a new off-road bumper, rear bumper, and high-profile all-terrain tyres. These changes enhance the approach and departure angles, making it more suitable for rugged terrains. This kind of design would be highly appreciated in Indias varied road conditions.
Tuesday, 21 May 2024 09:52 AM The Scorpio N Adventure Edition is priced at 644,499 Rand in South Africa, which translates to approximately Rs. 29.6 lakh. If Mahindra decides to launch a similar edition in India, the pricing would be a crucial factor, and its likely to be competitive given Mahindras market strategy. I think it would be a good value for money if priced correctly.
Tuesday, 21 May 2024 09:08 AM The vehicle comes with multiple off-road-oriented features including hill hold and hill descent control, an electronic brake-locking differential, and a mechanical rear-locking differential. These features would be highly beneficial for Indian drivers who often encounter diverse and challenging road conditions.
Tuesday, 21 May 2024 04:39 AM Despite the lack of confirmation for an Indian launch, the Scorpio N Adventure Edition has garnered significant attention globally, especially with its win as the “Adventure SUV of the Year” at the Old Mutual Insure SA Car of the Year 2024 awards. This recognition could influence Mahindras decision to bring a similar model to India. I believe such an award would definitely boost its market appeal in India.
Tuesday, 21 May 2024 03:03 PM The Scorpio N Adventure Edition retains the luxurious interior features of the standard Scorpio N, including a dual-tone cabin, wireless phone charging, an electric sunroof, and dual-zone climate control. These features would make the vehicle appealing to both adventure seekers and family users in India.
Tuesday, 21 May 2024 05:02 AM The Scorpio N Adventure Edition features an advanced 6-speed automatic transmission and an intelligent 4-wheel drive system, which would be highly beneficial for navigating Indias diverse terrains. The inclusion of multiple terrain modes such as Normal, Snow, Mud, Sand, Grass, and Gravel would also be a significant advantage.
Tuesday, 21 May 2024 07:50 AM The exterior design of the Scorpio N Adventure Edition includes thick circular claddings over the wheel arches, all-black 18-inch spoked alloy wheels, and a roof rack, which enhance its rugged and adventurous look. This design would likely appeal to Indian buyers who value both aesthetics and functionality.
Monday, 20 May 2024 06:41 AM Mahindra has not confirmed the launch of the Scorpio N Adventure Edition in India, but there is speculation that a similar variant could be introduced with components compliant with Indian laws. This potential variant would likely retain the off-road-focused features such as the new bumpers, mud-terrain tyres, and enhanced suspension setup. I think this would be a great move to cater to Indias diverse terrain.
Monday, 20 May 2024 03:33 PM Mahindra is also testing a pickup truck version based on the Scorpio N in India, which could potentially rival the Isuzu V-Cross and Toyota Hilux. This development suggests that Mahindra is serious about expanding its off-road and utility vehicle offerings in the Indian market. I think this could be a game-changer for Mahindra in the Indian market.
Mileage
Wednesday, 20 November 2024 05:57 AM When it comes to mileage, the Mahindra Scorpio-N 4x2 variant is decent but not exceptional. Users have reported mileage ranging from 8 to 12 kmpl in mixed driving conditions, with some reporting lower figures in heavy city traffic. While it may not be the most fuel-efficient option, the Scorpio-Ns powerful engine and robust build justify the slightly higher fuel consumption. For those prioritizing performance and comfort over ultra-frugal mileage, the Scorpio-N remains a viable choice.

I got my red colored new Mahindra Scorpio few days ago. It comes with few aesthetic changes which I like the most. The engine used in it is the same peppy powerful but it is now doing its duty more silently. As company claims that they have made many changes, I am pretty disagree to this. I just found changes in front fascia while the side profile is same. Inside the cabin, dashboard is new other features are same. Another aspects of this SUV that is worth mentioning is the spacious and airy feeling in the cabin. The biggest handling problem of previous model is still remains in this SUV. So, If got a chance to exchange my car, I would change it with XUV500.

Few days backs, I bought new Mahindra Scorpio from Chandigarh. Now the face is more aggressive as compared to previous variant. The headlamps, bumper and grille are all new. The new Scorpio is ergonomically quite interesting with all the operational equipment well in reach. The new gearbox in the SUV gives it improved shift quality, clutch is light too so shifting gears needs less effort than before. One of the weakest point of the Mahindra was the ride and handling balance, and company has done great work to improve it. The tyres offer good grip which leads to comfort-ability while having long trips on tough roads. Considering the weight and price of the car, it definitely performs well in the dynamics section too. The after sales service of the company is good and there hasn't been much complaint about the same. The fuel efficiency of the new Scorpio has gone up nearly 1 kmpl, from the previously-claimed 14.7 kmpl.
