It seems to me that best bang for the bucks would be with the 2WD High AT variant as most of the luxury features were present without the need of paying for a 4WD which a majority of buyers may never require.

With its pricing fall in the range of Rs27.7 lakhs and 31.88 lakhs, the Alturas G4 was in the premium SUV class. This pricing angle brought it, headon, against the likes of Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner who are already operational in the Indian market. However, with Alturas G4 being a good offering in terms of features and luxury, the higher price tag as well as the perception of Mahindra brand was a deterring factor to woo the customers from these well entrenched competitors.

Target Audience

The Mahindra Alturas G4 aims primarily the rich Indians for whom an SUV of such class is expected to have road presence and an entirely posh interior. MG Gloster: And the Gloster is no different boasting of a brawny engine and a large cabin with equally good safety amenities including level-1 autonomous features.

On the other hand, however, the Alturas G4 is quite cheerful, with a supple and stylish cabin, well-functioning safety system and affordable price. Nonetheless, It poses stiff competition with these players in the market especially where brand perception and technological advancements are concerned.

To sum up, the Mahindra Alturas G4 is an appropriate all rounder SUV offering supreme sense of comfort from its interior, excel performance and extensive safety features. This is because it was challenged by brand perception as well as seasoned rival competition but it managed to create a space among sophisticated market whose aim is acquiring both luxury and functionality.
