Lamborghini Veneno
General information and overview
The Lamborghini Veneno was created to celebrate Lamborghini's 50th anniversary and is based on the Aventador platform but pushed to extraordinary levels of engineering and design. Unveiled in 2013, the Veneno features a 6,498cc naturally aspirated V12 engine producing 740 bhp and 690 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 350 km/h. The Roadster variant is slightly heavier due to chassis reinforcement but maintains all performance attributes. Its extreme aerodynamics and aggressive styling make it instantly recognizable. The car seats two, emphasizing the driver-focused experience over practicality. Only nine Roadsters exist globally, positioning the Veneno as a collector’s dream rather than a mass-market supercar. In India, owning one involves significant cost beyond the sale price, including taxes, insurance, and maintenance. The Veneno pushes the boundaries of hypercar engineering and symbolizes ultimate exclusivity in the Indian luxury automotive space.
The Lamborghini Veneno, based on the Aventador platform, celebrates Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary with an ultra-limited production of just nine roadsters worldwide. Powered by a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine producing approximately 740 bhp and 690 Nm torque, it accelerates to 100 km/h in about 2.8 seconds and maxes out near 354 km/h. The Veneno’s aggressive, aerodynamic bodywork with extensive carbon fiber reduces weight and enhances downforce, emphasizing race-inspired performance. The interior matches the exterior’s exclusivity with bespoke materials and minimalistic design. Seating capacity is limited to two, focusing on driver engagement over passenger comfort. The Veneno is imported as a completely built unit, making ownership in India extremely exclusive with very limited availability. Its extraordinary design, combined with a blistering V12, ensures the Veneno remains one of the most coveted and rare supercars in the Indian market.
Expert opinion and recommendation
The Lamborghini Veneno is an ultra-exclusive hypercar epitomizing extreme performance, cutting-edge design, and rarity. With only nine Roadster units produced worldwide, owning one in India is a testament to exclusivity and prestige. The 6.5-liter V12 engine delivers a staggering 740 bhp, propelling the car to a top speed of over 350 km/h with razor-sharp handling and aerodynamic mastery. However, this is not a practical daily driver but a collector's masterpiece best suited for the enthusiast seeking a rare, head-turning supercar with unparalleled track and road performance. The Veneno’s radical styling and extreme engineering make it an outstanding showcase of Lamborghini’s innovation and heritage. For buyers in India, it represents the pinnacle of automotive luxury and performance, albeit with immense ownership costs and niche usability. This car is a perfect fit for those who place exclusivity and speed above all else.
The Lamborghini Veneno is an extraordinary supercar that represents the pinnacle of Lamborghini’s design and engineering prowess. Its razor-sharp styling, extreme aerodynamics, and V12 powertrain make it a head-turner and an exhilarating driving machine. The exclusivity of only nine units being produced worldwide adds tremendous value for collectors. However, its practicality is limited by the minimal seating, firm ride, and extremely high maintenance cost. For someone seeking a rare, high-performance exotic car that stands out in India’s hyper-luxury space, the Veneno delivers unmatched flair and performance. Yet, it is more a passion purchase than a daily driver given its steep price and niche usability. The Veneno offers a once-in-a-lifetime ownership experience, blending brutal performance with iconic Lamborghini aesthetics.
Recent news and announcements
A 2015 Lamborghini Veneno Roadster has set a new record for the highest price paid in an online auction, selling for $6 million through SBX Cars. This sale surpassed the previous record held by a Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta. The Veneno Roadster, one of only nine examples built, was delivered new to a member of the Saudi Arabian Royal Family and has only 1105 miles on it. I think this sale highlights the enduring value and exclusivity of the Veneno.
In 2019, the seventh Lamborghini Veneno Roadster was sold by Bonhams for CHF8.28M (approximately $8 million), setting a high bar for Veneno sales. This sale underscores the Venenos status as one of the most valuable and sought-after Lamborghini models. I think the Venenos rarity and performance make it a true gem for collectors.
Lamborghini has announced that one of the three Veneno Coupés will be sold through SBX Cars in the coming weeks. This particular coupe has a mere 127 miles on it and is part of the ultra-exclusive production run of just 13 Venenos. The sale is expected to draw significant attention from collectors. I believe this will be another landmark sale for the Veneno.
The Lamborghini Veneno was unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show to celebrate Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary. Named after a famous fighting bull, the Veneno features a 6.5-liter V12 engine producing 750 horsepower and a top speed of 221 mph. Its design, with deep scoops and numerous aero appendages, makes it look like a part fighter jet and part race car. I believe the Venenos design is a masterpiece of automotive innovation.
The Veneno boasts advanced carbon fiber technology, with its entire chassis crafted as a CFRP monocoque and the outer skin also made from carbon fiber. This construction enhances its aerodynamic prowess and provides exceptional strength and rigidity. The Veneno accelerates from 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds, thanks to its lightweight and powerful build. I think the use of carbon fiber is a key factor in the Venenos impressive performance.
Pricing details and changes
The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster commands a staggering price of approximately INR 32.6 crores ex-showroom in India, excluding import duties, taxes, registration, and insurance. Factoring in these additional costs, the on-road price can easily surpass INR 40 crores, making it one of the most expensive cars available in the Indian market. This astronomical cost is driven by its rarity, limited production of only nine units, and its extraordinary performance capabilities. Compared to other Lamborghini models in India, which range between INR 4 crore and INR 8.89 crore, the Veneno stands in a league of its own price-wise. Acquiring this vehicle in India also involves high import duties and luxury car taxes, significantly inflating the final cost. Buyers must also consider dedicated service and maintenance expenses, which match its exclusivity and performance pedigree. The Veneno is less about value and more about owning a rare piece of automotive art.
In India, the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster is priced around INR 32.6 crores ex-showroom, with on-road prices easily crossing INR 40 crores after taxes, import duties, registration, and insurance. This price is significantly higher than other Lamborghini models available in India, reflecting the Veneno’s extreme exclusivity and limited production run. Compared to the Urus, Huracan EVO, and Revuelto, which range from around INR 4 crore to INR 8.9 crore ex-showroom, the Veneno stands apart as a collector's masterpiece. The hefty premium also factors in the import custom duties, which are among the highest for luxury supercars in India. Owning the Veneno here is reserved for ultra-high-net-worth individuals looking for rare automotive art rather than just transportation.
Fuel efficiency information
The Veneno is powered by a massive 6.5-liter V12 engine focused on performance, resulting in very low fuel efficiency, usually around 5-7 km/l under ideal conditions. Considering Indian fuel prices and running costs, this car demands significant expenditure on fuel, making it impractical for daily use if mileage is a concern. Buyers prioritizing economy should look elsewhere, as the Veneno’s running costs reflect its hypercar status and performance focus rather than efficiency.
The Lamborghini Veneno offers around 5-6 km/l in typical city and highway driving conditions in India, reflecting its monstrous V12 engine and supercar focus. For buyers concerned about running costs, the mileage is very low, and fuel expenses will be substantial. Considering this is a limited-edition hypercar, fuel economy should be secondary to performance and exclusivity.

Professional reviews and expert opinions on Lamborghini Veneno
Lamborghini has launched the Veneno - a fully featured luxurious sports car, to celebrate its 50th anniversary. Veneno is the name taken of the strongest fighting bull. Engineers had led their full concentration on providing high end aerodynamics, stability along with being a light weight car. This true racing sensation is valued at Rs. 26,00,00,000 approximately. But unfortunately the company availed only 3 unique units in the colors of Italian flag which too are sold off.
Exterior and Interior
The Veneno has been featured with "ready to attack" looks. The whole car has been designed with carbon fiber and grey metallic color. It has a large aerodynamic wing along with huge channels to let the air pass smoothly, a substantial diffuser, adjustable wing and Y shaped lights at rear. This 2 seater car is fully equipped with carbon and forged composite interior along with all the Lamborghini accessories.
The entire Lamborghini Veneno has been designed to bring the best of aerodynamics efficiency. The front end has been prepared in an arrow shape, along with huge channels, scissor doors, angular headlamps and the front hood to perfectly pass through the air flow and down force. Similarly the rear end has been designed to maintain the under body aerodynamics. Large openings have been provided to manage the airflow and ventilate the engine properly. Its 20 inches alloy wheels at the front and 21 inches at the rear along with the carbon fiber ring and center mounting further enhances its performance. It weighs 1,450kgs which is 125kgs lighter than Aventador- the previous model. The built made of CFRP monocoque is solely responsible for it.
Engine and Gearbox
It has been assembled with powerful 6498cc, 6.5 liters 12 V, 12 cylinders engine that can produce maximum power of 740 Bhp and maximum torque of 690Nm. This racing sensation can go 0-100kmph in just 2.5seconds. Also it is worth mentioning that it can attain the top speed of 354kmph. It has 7 speed ISR type of gear transmission with permanent all wheel drive and 5 driving modes features.
Suspension and Brakes
Veneno has been featured with racing type of chassis along with Pushrod and horizontal spring / damper type of suspension. The brake system include ventilated brakes at the front and disc brakes at the rear.
Safety Features
It has incorporated all the safety measures possible like, 10 air bags, parking sensors, fog lamp, transaction control system, EBD , ABS and the ESP.
Shades
Lamborghini Veneno has been made in 3 colors of Italian flag that are Green, Red and White but only 3 units, all of which have been sold off.
Conclusion
Venevo is the super car meant by Lamborghini merely to show their capabilities. The car with gorgeous looks, lots of carbon fiber, powerful engine and also being the lightest at the same time is too expensive for one to buy and also the company has made only 3 units. So this car is rare to be seen.
