Our take on this /// Verdict
The Hyundai Elantra Diesel SX is a solid choice for those seeking a comfortable and feature-rich sedan. I appreciate its wonderfully balanced ride quality, which makes it super comfortable in city driving. The engine-transmission combination is well-tuned, offering a smooth and hassle-free drive. The car is packed with convenient features like ventilated seats, a wireless charger, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. However, the exterior design can be polarizing, and some may find the interiors a bit old-school. Additionally, the lack of certain premium features like auto daynight IRVM and one-touch power windows for passengers slightly detracts from the overall premium experience. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Elantras performance, reliability, and extensive feature list make it a compelling option in its segment.
Price
The Hyundai Elantra Diesel SX is priced competitively in the Indian market. The ex-showroom price in Delhi ranges from Rs 17.86 lakh to Rs 21.13 lakh, depending on the variant. When you factor in the on-road costs, including taxes and other charges, the price can go up to around Rs 20-24 lakh. This pricing positions the Elantra as a strong contender against its main rival, the Skoda Octavia. Considering the features, performance, and comfort it offers, the Elantra provides good value for money, especially for those who prioritize a smooth driving experience and a plethora of convenience features.

Hyundai has launched the BS6-compliant Elantra diesel in India, with the SX variant priced at Rs 18.70 lakh and the SX (O) AT variant at Rs 20.65 lakh. The new 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 115hp and 250Nm of torque, paired with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. This move strengthens Hyundais commitment to diesel engines in the BS6 era. I think this is a smart move to cater to diesel enthusiasts.

The Hyundai Elantra diesel SX variant comes well-equipped with features like automatic headlamps, an electric sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It also includes safety features such as six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, and a rear parking camera. This makes it a compelling choice in the premium sedan segment. Saturday, 14 March 2020 08:30 PM
Hyundai has confirmed that the Elantra diesel will share its 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine with the Kia Seltos and the new Hyundai Creta. This engine produces 115hp and 250Nm of torque and will be available with both 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. This engine swap is expected to improve fuel efficiency.
Saturday, 14 March 2020 07:17 AM
The BS6 Elantra diesel will be offered in two variants: SX MT and SX (O) AT. The SX (O) AT variant adds features like a 10-way powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, LED headlamps, and a wireless phone charger. These additions make the top-spec variant quite luxurious. I think the extra features justify the higher price.
Saturday, 14 March 2020 10:44 PM
Hyundai has decided to axe the base S petrol variant of the Elantra, making the SX MT the new entry-level variant. This change has resulted in a price reduction for the remaining petrol variants, making them more competitive. The diesel variants are expected to follow a similar pricing strategy.
Friday, 13 March 2020 12:43 PM
The new 1.5-litre diesel engine in the Elantra replaces the older 1.6-litre engine, which produced 128hp and 260Nm of torque. Although the new engine has slightly lower power and torque, it is expected to offer better fuel efficiency. This change aligns with the industrys shift towards more efficient engines.
Friday, 13 March 2020 09:38 AM
The Hyundai Elantra diesel is expected to have a significant impact on the market, especially with the discontinuation of the Skoda Octavia and Toyota Corolla Altis. The Honda Civic diesel will be its main competitor in the premium sedan segment. I think this competition will drive innovation and better value for customers.
Friday, 13 March 2020 07:23 PM
Hyundai has been working on introducing the BS6-compliant diesel engine for the Elantra since the facelift was launched in October 2019. The companys commitment to offering both petrol and diesel options sets it apart in the market. I believe this strategy will help Hyundai retain its customer base.
Friday, 13 March 2020 08:31 PM
The Elantra diesel SX variant will include advanced safety features such as six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and rear parking sensors. These features enhance the overall safety and comfort of the vehicle. I think safety should always be a top priority, and Hyundai seems to be on the right track.
Friday, 13 March 2020 09:52 PM
Hyundais decision to introduce the BS6 Elantra diesel is seen as a move to cater to the demand for diesel vehicles in the premium sedan segment. The pricing strategy and feature list are designed to make the Elantra a strong contender in this market. I think this is a well-thought-out strategy to maintain market share.

wow nice and ,iam using dis car in every day
A Great car..........
i wud prefer civic over this car.....
A Great car with some
improvements yet to be made
This is almost a new entry sedan in this category
with Corolla Altis, Laura, Jetta etc. its main competitors. It has excelled all
of them in its looks, mileage and comfort. Its ride is excellent. Its greatest
feature is its performance with greater stability. Even at sharp corner and
high speeds this car has almost no rollover effect. Its driving seat has 10 way
adjustable motions and can be adjusted in the most suitable position suiting
your requirements. The direct effect of such an adjustment is that the driver
has no tiredness even after a long drive in adverse conditions.
Passengers on the back seats are very comfortable;
they have enough leg room and head space. With only two passengers on back seat
they have a luxurious feel. However the fifth passenger makes the space a bit
congested. Rear vent of AC adds to the comfort which everyone feels at heart.
While driving, the driver always feels his fingers
overstretched in an attempt to keep in contact with steering and the horn
simultaneously. Only one point is given as phone charger point in the front
console (with one in the rear seat). While using an additional accessory, which
needs continuous supply of charge e.g. a navigation device, this lack of an
additional charge point is pinching. In new versions Hyundai should pay
attention to it.
One more is the under sized cup-holders given in
the door pockets. These cup-holders are smaller in diameter than that of the
water bottles available in market. Sometimes these are hence useless.
very delegant
My sujection, First you close your eyes and you buy this wonderful car. I am an owner of new Elentra
