Pricing details and changes
In India, the Fiat Egea is expected to be priced competitively in the range of ₹12 lakh to ₹15 lakh ex-showroom, depending on the variant and transmission choice. The on-road price in major metros is likely to range from ₹13.5 lakh to about ₹17 lakh, factoring in taxes, insurance, and registration fees. This pricing positions the Egea as a value proposition in the midsize sedan segment, offering premium features like a large touchscreen, automatic climate control, and advanced infotainment at a cost similar to or slightly below rivals such as the Hyundai Verna and Honda City. Considering the segment’s price sensitivity, the Egea’s pricing strategy appears well calibrated to attract buyers looking for a spacious, tech-rich sedan without straining their budget. The combination of Italian styling and practical features at this price point could make it an interesting choice for families and professionals seeking comfort and style without premium badge pricing.
The Fiat Egea is expected to be priced in India with an ex-showroom range starting around ₹10 lakh, depending on the variant and engine choice. On-road prices, including registration, insurance, and other charges, could go up to ₹11.5 lakh for the top-end diesel automatic variant. This positions the Egea competitively against rivals like the Honda City and Hyundai Verna. The pricing strategy reflects Fiat’s intent to offer a premium product without overpricing, making it accessible to a wider audience. For buyers, this means getting a well-equipped sedan with modern features and a comfortable ride at a reasonable cost. The value proposition is strong, especially for those who prioritize features and comfort over brand popularity.
Fuel efficiency information
The Fiat Egea offers impressive mileage figures for India, with the 1.4-litre petrol delivering around 17-18 kmpl in real-world conditions, while the 1.6-litre diesel impresses with figures close to 23-24 kmpl. This makes the diesel variant particularly economical for longer commutes and highway driving, significantly lowering running costs. Buyers prioritizing fuel efficiency and lower operational expenses should strongly consider the diesel, especially if their usage involves daily long-distance travel.
The Fiat Egea’s diesel variants offer impressive mileage, with the 1.6-litre Multijet II engine delivering around 23-24 kmpl, making it a cost-effective choice for daily commuters and long-distance drivers. The petrol variants, while less efficient, still provide decent mileage for city use. For buyers concerned about running costs, the diesel Egea is the clear winner, offering low fuel expenses and high reliability. This makes it a smart pick for those who want to minimize fuel bills without compromising on comfort or performance.

Expert Verdict
Professional reviews and expert opinions on Fiat Egea
Fiat has planned an update for its Linea sedan and most probably it is expected to get a name change also. Fiat Aegea, as it is being called all over, is a full size sedan having all the basic and plenty of luxury features to be offered to the customers. It is expected to be here at the end of 2015 or if this time misses out, be sure for it in the early 2016.

It is expected to be here at the end of 2015 or if this time misses out, be sure for it in the early 2016.
Exterior
The car comes with very influential design, felling quiet sharp from the existing Fiat line-up. The feel seems to be premium as the car has been made by taking proper care of using least possible chrome and the amount being used in proper and arranged manner. The grill is perfect, with a perfect hood above the gently designed bumper. The headlights are aggressive and the rear lights feel more like a boomerang, complicated yet beautiful.
Interior
The car comes with all black interior with very beautifully inserted silver accents to it. The seats, the doors and every single element seem to be perfectly finished and come with an excellent built quality from Fiat. The 5 inch touchscreen works for the entertainment as well as the utility purposes including navigation and reverse parking.
Engine & Performance
The Fiat Aegea is expected to be with 3 engine options, one being a petrol engine and the other 2 being diesel motors. The most expected and useful engine is said to be the 1.6L Multijet diesel engine, producing an expected 120 BHP. The performance will be up to the mark and the engine is expected with a 6-speed manual transmission. 7-speed automatic is also expected but with a delay in its launch.
Braking
The new Aegea comes with disc brakes for the front whereas the rear is expected to carry the same. It can be skipped for cost cutting in India, but with a 1.6L engine, it’s good to have all disc brakes for passenger safety and ease of mind.
Comfort & Safety
Fiat has always been very specific regarding the comfort level of their cars and the upcoming sedan will be featuring all the comfort enhancing features like Rain sensing wipers, engine start/stop button and fully automatic climate control. Plenty of other features would be added by Fiat in order to make every ride, a joy ride. Aegea will feature ABS and EBD, whereas brake assist is expected on the upcoming sedan. Speed sensitive door locks and smart key will make safer possibilities than before.
Expected Ex-showroom Price
The Fiat Aegea is expected to be with a price tag of INR 10,00,000 for the 1.6L motor, having 100 percent possibilities of lower trims with a cheaper price tag.
