It’s definitely more of a driver’s car than previous DBs. The new suspension and chassis tuning makes a huge difference in the corners.
Is the DB12 a proper driver’s car or merely a pretty grand tourer?

Yes it's still a GT at heart. It is too heavy and too luxurious to be a real sports car. That's not a bad thing – it excels at what it’s meant to do.
Is the DB12 a proper driver’s car or merely a pretty grand tourer?

Aston appears to have found a sweet spot. It’s sharper than a traditional GT but comfortable by hardcore sports car standards. Best of both worlds.
Is the DB12 a proper driver’s car or merely a pretty grand tourer?

It’s a driver’s car, if you know what I mean. This isn’t a track weapon, look elsewhere if that’s what you want. It’s hard to beat for fast road driving though.
Is the DB12 a proper driver’s car or merely a pretty grand tourer?

The DB11 should have been the DB12 from the outset. Now, it has the power and handling to back up those looks.
Is the DB12 a proper driver’s car or merely a pretty grand tourer?

The answer is still too heavy to be considered a genuine driver's car. It all adds up to the electronics and luxury features. Quick, but no lightweight sports car.
Is the DB12 a proper driver’s car or merely a pretty grand tourer?

And who says a GT can’t be a driver’s car? Having luxury and performance in one package, the DB12 is the proof. This is a modern interpretation of a sports car.
Is the DB12 a proper driver’s car or merely a pretty grand tourer?

I have driven it and it is more engaging than you would think. It's not a Vantage, but it has a split personality that is really appealing.
Is the DB12 a proper driver’s car or merely a pretty grand tourer?

This is a grand tourer that can hustle when you want it to. Just don't pretend that the 2020 Giulia will outhandle a 911 GT3 or an F8 Tributo.
Is the DB12 a proper driver’s car or merely a pretty grand tourer?

The DB12 can be both. Attack some corners in Sport+ or cruise in comfort. It’s not as focused as more sports cars, but in a way that’s more versatile.
Is the DB12’s infotainment system merely a deal breaker or a game changer?
03 February 2025 10:32
Absolute game-changer. The old system was embarrassingly poor. Aston finally enters the 21st century with this new one.
Is the DB12’s infotainment system merely a deal breaker or a game changer?
03 February 2025 10:32
Nice but not a deal breaker. Buyers of Astons are buying the driving experience and the looks, not the tech.
Is the DB12’s infotainment system merely a deal breaker or a game changer?

I'm worried about long-term reliability. Complex systems usually have poor gradability. Any day it can be physical buttons.
Is the DB12’s infotainment system merely a deal breaker or a game changer?
03 February 2025 10:32
It's a necessary evil. At this price point, it’s what buyers expect in a car, modern tech. Or else, Aston had to step up.
Is the DB12’s infotainment system merely a deal breaker or a game changer?
03 February 2025 10:32
They have a new system they installed, which is great, but I hope they don't go absolutely bonkers with screens like some other luxury brands. But there is a balance.
Is the DB12’s infotainment system merely a deal breaker or a game changer?
03 February 2025 10:32
I'm torn. Overall, the tech is impressive, but there is part of me that laments the old school charm of minimal electronics in a sports car.
Is the DB12’s infotainment system merely a deal breaker or a game changer?
03 February 2025 10:32
It's about time! Previous Astons’ weakest link was the infotainment. This upgrade really puts the DB12 in proper premium territory.
Is the DB12’s infotainment system merely a deal breaker or a game changer?
03 February 2025 10:32
I think it's overkill. The drive should be an Aston, not playing with a fancy touchscreen. Keep it simple.
Is the DB12’s infotainment system merely a deal breaker or a game changer?
03 February 2025 10:32
The system is a good thing, but in reality, it will become obsolete in a couple of years. I just hope Aston have a plan for how they will support and keep the platform up to date.
Is the DB12’s infotainment system merely a deal breaker or a game changer?
03 February 2025 10:32
Absolutely. And the DB12 has the performance to match and so much more character than a 911 or a Roma.
