It's just marketing fluff. For Aston to label the DB12 a 'Super Tourer' is them trying to create a category they can dominate, it is a great GT car.

I disagree. In terms of blending GT comfort with supercar performance, the DB12 really does it better than most. It’s more livable than a Ferrari, yet more exciting than a Bentley.

The “Super Tourer” thing is a bit silly, but the car does it. It has the power to play with supercars but the refinement for long trips. Best of both worlds.

It is different enough to be a category of its own. It is more versatile than most GTs or supercars thanks to the suspension tech and adaptive dampers.

Meh, just a fast luxury car. Other brands do the same and offer similar packages, without inventing new terms.

I believe that it’s Aston’s way of justifying the price. So, call it something new and special, and perhaps people will pay the premium.

Not at all. Aston tunes the AMG engine to their own specs, and the AMG engine is a beast. It’s the best of both worlds, German engineering with British character.

Nimish on 17 January 2025 08:04
It definitely loses something. Aston always had an appeal because it was a fully British experience, bespoke. Cheating with an off the shelf AMG engine.

Varun on 23 January 2025 22:50
The car does not run on the engine. It’s all in the chassis tuning, design and overall experience that Aston have with magic. The more reliable AMG heart just makes it.

Md on 30 January 2025 20:06
I think it’s a good move. Aston gets a world class engine and can concentrate on what they do best, which is making beautiful, driver oriented GTs.

Priyanka on 03 February 2025 03:06
It's a necessary evil. Aston needs to stay competitive, and developing engines is insanely expensive. If it sounds and drives like an Aston, who cares where the engine came from?

Mansi on 02 February 2025 22:57
The AMG engine does help to enhance the character of the DB12. You get the brutal German power with the British refinement. Best of both worlds.

Divya on 02 February 2025 23:23
I'm torn. There was something special about Aston’s own V12s, and their performance is undeniable. It is progress, but at the expense of some soul.
