USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The BMW 1 Series M Performance Edition is a compelling choice for those seeking a blend of performance, luxury, and driving dynamics in the compact hatchback segment. While BMW has historically been cautious about introducing the 1 Series in the Indian market, the M Performance Edition brings a welcome dose of sportiness. The cars handling, particularly in sport mode, is exceptional, making it feel agile and responsive. However, the rear leg space and boot capacity are somewhat limited, which might be a consideration for some buyers. The interior is well-appointed with high-quality materials, and the latest tech features, including a user-friendly interface, enhance the driving experience. Overall, its a refined and solid piece of engineering that justifies its premium price tag, especially for those who prioritize driving pleasure.
Price
In India, the BMW 1 Series M Performance Edition is priced competitively within the luxury hatchback segment. The ex-showroom price for this model typically starts around Rs. 40-45 lakhs, depending on the specific trim and features chosen. On-road prices, including taxes and other costs, can range from Rs. 50-55 lakhs. This pricing positions the 1 Series M Performance Edition favorably against its rivals like the Mercedes A-Class and Audi A3, especially considering the unique blend of performance and luxury it offers. However, the cost can be steep for some buyers, and the lack of certain features as standard options might add to the overall expense.

Mileage
Wednesday, 20 November 2024 02:52 PM When it comes to mileage, the BMW 1 Series M Performance Edition is reasonable but not outstanding. The 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol engine or the 2.0-liter diesel engine, depending on the variant, offer mileage that is somewhat in line with other luxury hatchbacks. You can expect around 12-15 kml in city driving and up to 18-20 kml on the highway. While these figures are not the best in class, they are acceptable given the performance and luxury on offer. For buyers concerned about running costs, its essential to weigh these mileage figures against the overall driving experience and features provided.
