In fact, my girlfriend actually prefers riding pillion on the Hunter, more than my old Pulsar. The riding position isn't particularly cramped, the seat is pretty comfy.

For short trips it’s ok, but anything longer than 30 minutes and my pillion starts complaining. The suspension can be quite harsh on bumpy roads and the seat is a bit small.

I think it's decent for a class. It’s not as big as some larger bikes, but it was fine for city rides. You can't do long tours with a pillion, though.

I don’t like the pillion comfort. The seat is sloped down and there's nothing to hold onto. It's an afterthought in the design.

It's better than I expected. In fact, the compact size actually makes it easier for my wife to get on and off than larger bikes. We've gone a couple 2 hour rides without issue.

As a pillion rider, I find the Hunter okayish but not great. The footpegs are positioned well; only a backrest would be a welcome addition for more support.

It's a compromise. For the pillion, better than most sport bikes, not as good as larger cruisers or tourers. It's OK for a city focused bike.

I began on a Hunter, and I have no regrets. It’s easy to handle, but has enough power to keep things interesting as you learn.

They're not the best for beginners. A Honda CB350 or something like that might be a more reliable and liveable thing.

If you want something, it depends. The Hunter's a nice bike if you're looking at the RE experience without the bulk of their other Bikes. If you need just a simple commuter, there are cheaper options.

For new riders that dig the retro look, I think it’s a decent pick. It’s forgiving for beginners, with light clutch and smooth power delivery.

I’d say the Hunter is good, but not perfect for someone who teaches new riders. The weight is not too heavy, but for newbies the maintenance needs might be too much.

The price is a bit high for what you get but it's a decent first bike. For the same money, you could get a more feature packed bike from other brands.

I began on a smaller bike and graduated to the Hunter. I love it as a second bike, but I think it's a bit much for absolute beginners.

The Hunter is a good compromise bike between something that is beginner friendly and something you can grow into. Also, there is a great RE community for new riders who want support or advice.
Is the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 really worth all the hype or is it just another overhyped Royal Enfield?

It’s been a blast, I’ve had my Hunter for about 6 months now. It's not your typical thumper, but that's kinda the point. It’s light, nimble, and great for city riding. If you’re looking for something different from RE, then the hype is justified.

Overhyped, definitely. I had a test ride on one and was pretty underwhelmed. The build quality is a question, it feels cheap in comparison to other REs. They seem to have cut too many corners to enable that price point.

It's a mixed bag. The Hunter is a great new rider bike or for riders who want a modern RE experience. If you're looking for the classic Enfield feel, you might be disappointed, however. Some people think it’s worth the hype, others don’t.

People are missing the point, I think. He's not trying to be a Classic or a Bullet. RE is trying to catch the younger riders and from what I can see, it's working. Not taking itself too seriously, it's a fun little bike.

I am a long time RE fan, and so I was a bit skeptical at first. I get it now, though, after riding my friend's Hunter. It’s not perfect, but it’s a step in the right direction for the brand. If you understand what RE is doing here, the hype is justified.
