Is the Guerrilla 450 too far afield from Royal Enfield's classic design language?

I believe it is a refreshing change. And the Guerrilla 450 proves that RE can do modern designs just as well as they can retro bikes, because they can't keep making retro bikes forever. It’s not stuck in the past but it’s still got some classic touches.

It’s too much of a departure for me. One of the things I love about RE is their classic styling. The Guerrilla 450 could be any generic modern bike – it's lost that special RE character.

At first I was skeptical, but I am warming to it. It has a good mix of modern and classic things. Also it’s good to see RE trying out different styles.

It doesn't feel like a Royal Enfield but the styling is fine. They seem to be trying too hard to be like the other brands. They just wish they'd kept closer to their roots while updating at the same time.

It’s time that people chill about the styling. However, RE is evolving, and that’s a good thing. The Guerrilla 450 looks good and works well – isn’t that what it’s all about?
Is the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 an upgrade worth the money from the Hunter 350?
09 January 2025 10:38
Absolutely! But the Guerrilla 450 is a huge step up in performance and features. That liquid cooled engine is a game changer and the power difference is night and day. Plus, you get better brakes, suspension and electronics. Going from a bicycle to a motorcycle is like that!
Is the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 an upgrade worth the money from the Hunter 350?

It's not something I would say is worth it for everyone. For a city bike and a bit of highway, the Hunter 350 is a great bike. For most riders, the Guerrilla 450 could be overkill at the price difference. The question you have to ask yourself is, do you really need that extra power and features?
Is the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 an upgrade worth the money from the Hunter 350?
09 January 2025 10:38
I upgraded from a Hunter 350 to a Guerrilla 450, and I can say that it is most certainly worth it if you are an enthusiast rider. Twisty roads are much easier to hack on with the extra power and better handling. But those benefits may not be as apparent for pure city commuting.
Is the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 an upgrade worth the money from the Hunter 350?
09 January 2025 10:38
It depends on your riding style and your needs, I think. If you are happy with the Hunter 350 and ride mostly in the city, stick with it. If you simply want to tour, the Guerrilla 450 is a good upgrade, but if you want to do more touring, or want a more engaging ride, then you want to go up market. Just expect to pay more in maintenance costs.
Is the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 an upgrade worth the money from the Hunter 350?

The Guerrilla 450 is more of a sidegrade compared to an upgrade, let’s be real. Yeah, it has more power, but some of that classic RE charm goes out the window. It’s more simple and has more character than the Guerrilla 450. Sometimes less is more.
Does the Guerrilla 450’s 11 liter fuel tank capacity hinder its touring potential?
09 January 2025 10:38
That is definitely a limitation for serious touring. At 11 liters, you’ll be stopping for fuel far too often on long rides. The rest of the bike looks great for touring, it's such a shame.
Does the Guerrilla 450’s 11 liter fuel tank capacity hinder its touring potential?
09 January 2025 10:38
I don't think it's as big a deal as people say it is. It's pretty fuel efficient for the bike, so you still get a decent range. And it’s a good excuse to take breaks and stretch your legs on long rides.
Does the Guerrilla 450’s 11 liter fuel tank capacity hinder its touring potential?
09 January 2025 10:38
I have done a few 500+ km days on the Guerrilla 450 and it is manageable, but not ideal. If you know it, it’s not a deal breaker, but you have to plan your fuel stops more carefully.
Does the Guerrilla 450’s 11 liter fuel tank capacity hinder its touring potential?
09 January 2025 10:38
The small tank is a design choice to keep the bike compact, agile. For city riding and weekend trips, it’s more than enough. If you're a serious tourer then there are always aftermarket solutions such as auxiliary fuel tanks.
Does the Guerrilla 450’s 11 liter fuel tank capacity hinder its touring potential?
09 January 2025 10:38
I think this is being over thought. How often do you actually ride more than 200-250 km without stopping? For most real world scenarios the 11 liter tank is good.
Is the Guerrilla 450 for new riders too powerful?
09 January 2025 10:38
Not at all! Power delivery on the Guerrilla 450 is very manageable. It's not a crazy sportbike and the electronics keep things in check. It’s a great bike to grow with if you’re responsible.
Is the Guerrilla 450 for new riders too powerful?
09 January 2025 10:38
I would argue that it is too much for a complete beginner. If you have no experience, start with something smaller like a Classic 350 or Hunter 350 and move up to the Guerrilla.
Is the Guerrilla 450 for new riders too powerful?
09 January 2025 10:38
It depends on the individual. Some of these new riders can handle the power responsibly, they are naturally cautious. Some could get in over their heads. Sometimes it's more about maturity than experience.
Is the Guerrilla 450 for new riders too powerful?
09 January 2025 10:38
I think it's fine for new riders as long as you take proper training courses and respect the bike's capabilities – I started on a Guerrilla 450. If you know how to use the controls, the power is there but it’s not intimidating.
Is the Guerrilla 450 for new riders too powerful?
09 January 2025 10:38
Let’s be honest, 40 bhp isn’t a lot in the grand scheme of things. That's more than enough power for a serious new rider. Don't be an idiot with the throttle, just don't.
