Is the Guerrilla 450 too far afield from Royal Enfield's classic design language?
But the debate among Royal Enfield fans over the modern, sporty look of the Guerrilla 450 has been intense. Some love the fresh approach and think it’s a natural evolution of the brand while others think it’s too far a distance from the classic, retro inspired looks that Royal Enfield is known for. The conversation usually comes down to whether the new design will offend traditional RE fans or bring in a new demographic of riders. The angular tank design, the modern LED lighting and the silhouette of the bike itself are all points of contention. There are those who say that the Guerrilla 450 marks a brave new direction for the brand, while others are afraid it will water down Royal Enfield’s singular identity in the marketplace.
I believe it is a refreshing change. And the Guerrilla 450 proves that RE can do modern designs just as well as they can retro bikes, because they can't keep making retro bikes forever. It’s not stuck in the past but it’s still got some classic touches.
