Overview - Most Aggressive Looking Sonata Ever

Hyundai Motor has unveiled the long-awaited replacement for the Sonata - The 2010 Sonata YF at the Frankfurt Auto Show 2009. The new Sonata is set to be a revolutionary redesign for the mid-size sedan, incorporating a more modern, sportier design that radically deviates from the current generation's more conventional style. Development of the 6th generation Sonata sedan took Hyundai engineers and designers 4 years and $372 million to develop.

It is also equipped with the company's latest powertrain technology that offer class-leading performance at no compromise of efficiency. It is expected that all new Sonata will shake the D+ sedan segment with its polarizing new design and features.

Design & Style of New 2010 Hyundai Sonata

The sleek, rakish lines of New Sonata's exterior evoke a four-door coupe alike the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class and Volkswagen CC. Hyundai announced that the new Sonata will be the first car to incorporate the brand's new "Fluidic Sculpture" corporate design theme, thus finally calming the quarrel surrounding the company's lack of a genuine brand identity to this date. The automaker even stated its hopes to replicate the immense impact made by the first-generation Ford Taurus when it debuted in 1985 with its futuristic, timeless styling.

The redesigned Sonata also hopes to lead the mid-size car segment with new, innovative powertrain technology. As gas prices will likely continue escalating into the future, Hyundai will focus more on its 4-cylinder engine line-up and the Sonata is no exception. Hyundai has high hopes for the 2010 Sonata as it will also pack an abundant list of standard features and segment-first options as well.

Safety & Other Features  of New 2010 Hyundai Sonata

New 2010 Sonata features vastly improved safety and convenience features that will attract and satisfy new as well as current Sonata customers. It comes with following safety features:

- Vehicle Dynamic Control
- Amplitude Selective Dampers
- Electronic Parking Brake
- Hill-start Assist Control
- Brake Assist System
- ABS & EBD, 8 Airbags
- Parking Guide System

Production & Launch  of New 2010 Hyundai Sonata In Indian Market

2010 New Sonata will not be manufactured in India - it is expected that Hyundai will continue to produce of New Sonata at both of its overseas manufacturing plants, located in Alabama, US and China. Production of the 2010 Hyundai Sonata for the US market will begin early next year, while production in China will commence in the beginning of 2011. From that year, combined Korean and overseas production of New Sonata is expected to reach 4,50,000 units annually!

It is expected Hyundai India is going to be launched in Indian Market in July, 2010 in a price range of 15-18 lakhs. It will compete with the likes of Skoda Laura, Honda Accord & Volkswagen Jetta. In comparison to these cars New Sonata seems to be much better in terms of style, design, features and technology.
