Tata Motors Limited has unveiled a brand new hatchback, Tata Bolt at an event in New Delhi on February 3, 2014 which was also on-display at the Auto Expo 2014 and will be launched in the market in the second half of 2014. Although, built on the enhanced version of company's X1 platform, it has some great new features and design elements which are worth mentioning. It is a sporty and dynamic hatchback that will surely redefine the passenger car market with its new design aesthetics (DESIGNEXT), a segment-defining drive experience (DRIVENEXT) and high-tech infotainment system(CONNECTNEXT). Tata Bolt has got some remarkable exterior features which makes it a formidable competitor and includes new body panels, well sculpted body colored front bumper with large air dam and fog lights with bezels, a new Tata signature front grille with the new Humanity Line which flows directly into its stylish dynamic projector headlamps with chrome accents, stylish 15-inch alloy wheels, thick character line at its sides, body colored ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, a sporty antenna at the front top, body colored outside door handles, rear black C-pillars, a rear automatic wiper, a floating rear roof spoiler and distinctive LED tail lamps. This superbly designed hatchback has a length of 3825mm, a width of 1695mm and a height of 1550mm as its dimensions and has a large wheelbase of 2470mm for a comfortable and stable ride. It has a kerb weight of 1080kgs and a fuel tank capacity of 44liters along with a front and rear wheel track of 1450mm and 1440mm respectively.

All You Need to Know about the Tata Bolt
Tata Bolt will be available in both petrol and diesel engines. It has an all-new 1.2L, 4-cylinders, turbocharged, intercooled, MPFi based REVOTRON petrol engine with a maximum power of 83.8bhp at 5,000rpm and a maximum torque of 140Nm at 1,750-3,000rpm and is mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox transmission. On the other hand, it has a Fiat-sourced 1.3L, 4-cylinders, Quadrajet common-rail turbo-diesel engine with a maximum power of 73.9bhp at 4,000rpm and a maximum torque of 190Nm at 1,750-3,000rpm and is mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox transmission. It also has a dry single plate clutch.
Tata Bolt has got a vacuum assisted independent hydraulic braking system which involves ventilated disk brakes at front and drum brakes at rear. The suspension system includes a dual path independent McPherson strut with anti-roll bar at front and an independent 3-link McPherson strut with anti-roll bar at rear. As for the safety of its passengers, it has dual front airbags, fog lamps, parking sensors, ABS with EBD, a Cornering Stability feature and an improved suspension.
