Overview of New Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire

After the successful launch of A-Star, new Swift, Ertiga and Ritz, Maruti Suzuki India has launched the much-awaited 2012 model of their popular sedan ‘Swift Dzire’ in Indian Market. New Maruti Swift Dzire is based on the 2011 model of Swift hatchback which went on sale in August, 2011 in India, promising better dynamics, increased performance and improved CO2 emissions and better fuel economy. Maruti Suzuki India has limited the length of new Swift DZire under four metres to get the excise benefits (excise duty is 10 percent on vehicles under 4 metres and 22 percent above 4 metres in length). As expected because of this benefit the new Swift Dzire is cheaper in comparison to the 2011 models. The base model of petrol Swift Dzire is priced at Rs. 4,79,000 (Ex-Showroom New Delhi) and base model of diesel is priced at Rs. 5,80,000 (Ex-Showroom New Delhi). The new DZire has at least 150 new features compared to the existing one. The company, however, will continue to produce the old DZire in stripped down versions to target the fleet segment. It is exepcted that Maruti will rename the sedan to cater the fleet services.

- New car is just 3995mm in length, which is only 145mm longer than Swift hatchback

  my vxi model is giving average of only 10 km/l in the city. so think many times before booking because it is not fuel efficient car.company is clamming average of 19-20 on highway.

  i like this car but no airbag or alloy wheels in vxi manual and automatic variant is bad.maruti have to give atleast one airbag for this variant.
