Ford has revealed the 2015 "Ford Everest" at an event in Beijing, China. The company claims that it will be one of the smartest vehicles on road. This SUV is going to be launched in India, in a few months by the present name "Ford Endeavour". The SUV has got a total make-over and no one can identify it as an Endeavour.

The 2015 Everest concept is all together different and is based on the Ford Ranger. The SUV borrows the styling with a more premium look both inside and outside from the Ranger. The noticeable and remarkable features includes the aluminum front and rear underbody protection, LED daytime running lights and a large chrome hexagonal front grille. The ground clearance has been increased to 225mm and water-wading capability to 800mm while the towing capacity is same with 3000 kg. The company said that it has best-in-class cargo payload capacity of 750 kg, an approach angle of 29-degree and a departure angle of 25-degree.

In terms of engines, the SUV will be offered with a 2.0-liter EcoBoost along with a 2.2-ltier Duratorq TDCi and a beefier 3.2-liter Duratorq TDCi. Depending upon the engine, Ford is offering the car with a six-speed automatic or manual transmissions. The current Indian version of SUV is powered by the 2.5L TDCi and 3.0L TDCi engines which are mated with  the 5-speed manual and automatic transmissions. The 2015 version of Ford Endeavour is expected to be powered by the 2.2-litre TDCi and 3.2-liter Duratorq TDCi which would be mated with the 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions.

The 2015 Everest comes equipped with the SYNC2 infotainment system along with an 8-inch touchscreen display. It comes with two USB ports, a 240-volt socket for the second row, 12-volt outlets in the front & second rows and trunk for the convenience of users. The Ford has given equal importance to the safety and assistance systems. The SUV comes with Hill Ascent & Descent & Curve Control, Hill Start Assist, Lane Keeping Aid, Anti-lock braking system, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Alert, Airbags, Roll Stability Control, EBD and ESP.

The SUV is going to be available in the countries like China, Australia, New Zealand, India, South Africa and other markets, sometime by next year. The 2015 Everest is expected to be priced in the range of INR 19-22 lakhs.
