VW Taigun Sport GT Plus vs. GT Line: A Comparison

Volkswagen has introduced the Taigun Sport edition, featuring two variants: the GT Plus and the GT Line. Unveiled at VW's brand conference in Jaipur, both variants are set to go on sale next month. While they share similarities such as 17-inch 'Cassino' black alloy wheels and black leatherette interiors, there are key differences between the two models that set them apart in terms of design, features, and performance.

Aesthetic Changes

The Taigun Sport GT Plus distinguishes itself with a striking Carbon Steel Grey roof and exclusive red 'GT' branding, prominently displayed on the front grille, bumper, and tailgate. In contrast, the GT Line opts for smooth black accents in these areas, creating a more understated look. The GT Plus has an aggressive appearance and more visually appealing bright red brakes up front which enhance its racing appeal. The Taigun Sport GT Plus is distinguished from the GT Line version by these design features which add to the overall robust and sporty look.

Taking a more robust style, the GT Plus adds elegant aluminum pedals attractive red stitching and GT branding to its interior. The GT Line, on the other hand, takes a more muted approach with its grey stitching, keeping an elegant modest look.

Powertrain Options

The key difference lies in the powertrain options. The Taigun Sport GT Plus is powered by a more potent 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine, delivering 148bhp and 250Nm of torque. In comparison, the GT Line is equipped with a 1.0-litre mill producing 114bhp and 178Nm of torque. While both engines come with a six-speed manual transmission, the GT Line offers a six-speed automatic, while the GT Plus features a seven-speed twin-clutch DSG for added performance and driving dynamics.
