Bookings for UM Renegade Classic to Start in March 2017

UM Motorcycles launched 3 motorcycles at the Auto Expo 2016 but the third one was never heard after the event came to an end. The Renegade Classic was a mysterious product till the news of its bookings was confirmed by the company officials. It will make way into India in April 2017, starting the bookings from the month of March, next year. The year 2017 will be a crucial time for automakers as they will have to follow the stricter emission norms. UM has planned to do so by updating its engine with fuel injection instead of the carburetor setup. The same is expected to cause a price hike, which may take the Renegade Classic's price tag of INR 1.69 lakh (announced at Auto Expo 2016) to a higher value.

The motorcycle comes with a thick chrome surroundings on most of its parts, getting itself a new identity out of other two UM motorcycles. It is powered by the same 279.5cc engine producing 24.8 BHP and 21.8 Nm of torque. The values may change with the new setup next year. It is also expected that that along with the use of fuel injection, UM may take care of the quality issues on the three motorcycles. UM might also equip the Renegade Classic and the existing Renegade Commando and Sport S with a rear disc brake and ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) to meet the strict safety measures to be imposed by the Indian Government in near future.
