Tesla Set to Debut Production-Spec Cybertruck on November 30

After a two-year delay, Tesla is set to unveil the much-anticipated production-ready model of its Cybertruck on November 30. The event will mark a significant milestone for Tesla bringing the innovative electric pickup truck closer to reality for eager customers and series production of the Cybertruck began at Tesla's Texas Gigafactory in July providing a glimpse of the vehicle in its full production glory.

Interior Highlights

The Cybertruck is clearly visible in the most recent pictures that are making the rounds on the internet, and they also provide details about its production-spec cabin. While the exterior styling remains faithful to the pre-production units and concepts, the interior pictures reveal key details:

  • Minimalist Dashboard Layout: Consistent with other Tesla models, the Cybertruck features a minimalist dashboard layout, with a prominent 17-inch touchscreen display at the center.
  • Color Theme: The spy shots showcase a unique white and grey color theme for the interior hinting at potential variant-specific options.
  • Steering Wheel: The Cybertruck maintains Tesla's distinctive squared-off steering wheel, deviating from the traditional round design. Notably, the "Yoke" steering wheel is absent in this iteration.
  • Touchscreen Display Controls: The touchscreen display provides controls for various functions, including bed cover, suspension settings, steering adjustments, wing mirror settings, child lock, headlamps, sentry mode, car wash mode, and more.
  • Frunk: As seen in other Tesla models, the Cybertruck includes a front trunk ("Frunk") for additional storage space due to the absence of an engine.

Powertrain Options and Payload

Tesla has positioned the Cybertruck as a robust and resilient vehicle, with a body made from "ultra-hard 30X cold-rolled stainless steel," claimed to withstand attacks from 9mm bullets. Key specifications include:

  • Three Powertrain Options: The Cybertruck offers three powertrain options, featuring one, two, or three electric motors.
  • Performance: The entry-level single-motor, rear-wheel-drive variant boasts a 0-100kph acceleration in 6.5 seconds, a range of 402km, and a towing capacity of up to 3,400kg.
  • Payload Capacity: A standard payload capacity of 1,360kg is maintained across the range.
  • Mid-Range and Tri-Motor Variants: The mid-range dual-motor variant achieves a 0-100kph acceleration in 4.5 seconds, with similar range and towing capabilities. The tri-motor variant, utilizing Tesla's Plaid EV powertrain, offers an extended range of 804km and a towing capacity of 6,350kg.

Deliveries and Booking Numbers

Tesla is gearing up for customer deliveries of the Cybertruck, with sources indicating that the initial deliveries will cover two out of the three powertrain options. The order book for the Cybertruck is substantial, with independent crowd-sourced reservation trackers estimating around two million units.

Tesla India Plans

Fresh reports suggest progress in Tesla's plans for an official entry into the Indian market. While the initial batch of cars will be fully imported, Tesla aims to commence local manufacturing in India by 2026. Ongoing negotiations between the Indian government and Tesla could pave the way for the brand to not only sell imported models but also establish a manufacturing plant in the country and the possibility of an official Tesla presence in India is exciting as the landscape of electric vehicles continues to change. Watch this space for updates when Tesla's Cybertruck makes its public debut on November 30 signaling a big advancement for electric vehicles in the future.
