The Coimbatore-based EV maker, Boom Motors, has recently entered the electric two-wheeler segment by introducing its first-ever e-scooter, the Corbett-14. The manufacturer boasts that it is the most durable e-scooter in India. The Corbett-14 is currently available at a price of Rs 86,999 for the standard variant and Rs 1.20 lakh for the EX variant. Prices are ex-showroom and the company also cited that it would raise costs on the base model by up to 3,000 and the EX model by up to 5,000 at a later date. While speaking about the booking process, the bookings have already commenced and interested customers can book the e-scooter by paying Rs 499 as token money.

Furthermore, deliveries of the Boom electric scooter will begin in January 2022. Boom’s Corbett-14 is driven by a 3kW BLDC hub motor, while the Corbett 14-EX is powered by a 4kW BLDC hub motor. The former has a top speed of 65kmph, while the latter has a top speed of 75kmph. The basic model, on the other hand, can only fit a single 2.3kWh swappable battery, but the EX can fit two. This naturally equates to doubling the range, which is stated to be 100km for the standard model and 200km for the EX.

Both models require between 2.5 and 4 hours to charge, as it depends on the charger you are using. Boom also provides portable chargers for added convenience. The battery is covered by a 5-year warranty, and the double-cradle steel chassis is covered by a 7-year warranty. In terms of features, the Corbett-14 gets LED illumination, CO2 offset tracking, 30-litres of under-seat storage, accident/theft detection, petrol savings tracking and many more. While the suspension duties are handled by anti-dive 4-point adjustable front springs and 4-point adjustable dual units at the rear, In addition, disc brakes are used at both ends.
