Haldankar Customs is a Mumbai-based modifier that once converted the cruiser-friendly 350cc model of the Royal Enfield Thunderbird into an attractive streetfighter and christened it as Street X350. Since that day, the images of this modified motorcycle have been doing rounds on the internet.

There are only two design elements that claim it to be a Thunderbird 350 - the traditional Royal Enfield engine and the silver side panel below the rider's seat. The customization done by Haldankar Customs is visually appealing and more into the performance-biking segment.

The rounded fuel tank of the stock model of the Thunderbird 350 has been replaced with a streetfighter-style chiselled fuel tank on this modified model. The front end of the Street X350 features 6-LED lights housed inside a matte-black circular headlight casing.

The modifiers have also equipped the bike with one extra light near the instrument console. Haldankar Customs has also replaced the front telescopic forks with a sport-oriented KTM Duke 390 USD (Upside Down) suspension in addition to equipping the motorcycle with LED indicators and a fibre-based front fender.

Haldankar Customs has replaced the spoke wheels of the stock model with black alloy wheels. The custom-made single-piece seat looks quite comfortable while the pillion seat looks more like a floating part with no panels or frame around itself. However, the brake light and the turn indicators have been fitted just below it.

The rear tyre hugger has been placed right above the wheel, mocking the Yamaha FZ design and keeping the rider and pillion dirt-free on all types of terrains. The modifiers have even replaced the rear disc brake with a petal-type disc on the Royal Enfield Thunderbird Street X350.

The swingarm now holds a 180-section rear wheel on this customized Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350. A custom semi-digital instrument console has been placed in between the sporty handlebar of the bike.

The modified motorcycle is powered by the same 346cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 19.8HP of maximum power and 28Nm of peak torque. The engine remains mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The custom exhaust and lower overall weight make the Street X350 a better performer in all terms.

Which is better, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 or the Meteor 350?
2023-09-13 04:17:45 AM

Royal Enfield Classic 350 is a great bike in fact that RE engineers and designers have maintained the charming DNA of its predecessor but without the niggles. It was very easy for the brand to overdo the iconic Classic 350, but they have managed to find the right balance and the updates have been done only where required. On the other hand, the new J Platform motor is a clear step change from the UCE, making the Meteor 350 a far more well-rounded motorcycle than any of the previous 350s. It’s not just the engine, the gearbox feels more grown up too and the bike handles itself and its weight rather well.
