Royal Enfield Roadster 450 Spotted During Testing

The Royal Enfield Roadster 450 has once again been spotted testing offering a clearer glimpse into the side profile, design, mechanicals, features, and hardware of this highly anticipated motorcycle.

Classic Design with Modern Touches

True to Royal Enfield's heritage, the Roadster 450 maintains a classic design with a round headlight, expected to be LED, and a tear-drop-shaped fuel tank and it features a single-piece seat that adds to its retro appeal. The integrated setup for the rear brake light and turn indicators, similar to the Himalayan 450, enhances its modern functionality. The stubby up-swept exhaust, identical to the Himalayan 450's unit, further adds to its distinct style.

Powerful Sherpa 450 Engine

Under the hood, the Roadster 450 is powered by the same Sherpa 450 engine found in the new Himalayan. This 452cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine delivers 39.47bhp at 8,000rpm and 40Nm at 5,500rpm. Equipped with a slipper clutch the engine promises smooth and responsive performance.

Advanced Instrumentation and Connectivity

The Roadster 450 is expected to feature the same fully digital single-pod instrument cluster as the Himalayan 450. This modern cluster provides a neat display and is packed with data including smartphone connectivity with navigation and more enhancing the riding experience.

Robust Suspension and Braking

The spy images reveal gaitered telescopic front forks and a monoshock for the suspension setup ensuring a comfortable ride. The braking system comprises a single disc at both the front and rear, supported by dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety. The alloy wheels, likely 17 inches in size, are wrapped in dual-purpose tyres, making the Roadster 450 suitable for both city commutes and light off-road adventures.

Expected Rivals and Launch

The Royal Enfield Roadster 450 is expected to launch in the coming months, positioning itself as a strong contender in the market. Once launched, it will compete with the likes of the KTM 390 Duke, Triumph Speed 400, and the Yezdi Roadster.
