2017 Renault Duster was recently launched with a CVT gearbox for INR 10.32 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The same can be availed on the 1.5 liter, 4-cylinder petrol motor of the car, producing 106 HP and replacing the older 1.6 liter engine. This automatic gearbox is available on RxS trim while RxE manual gearbox version for the same engine can be bought for INR 8.49 lakh. This now helps the brand place Duster at a considerable margin below the segment rivals like Hyundai Creta.
Apart from all these changes, the new variant also offers Fiery Red exterior shade, 16 inch gun mental alloy wheels, gloss black front grill and Red finished interiors. Renault Duster's most effective rival, Hyundai Creta offers a petrol automatic at INR 12.99 lakhs. Even the Honda BR-V CVT is placed at INR 12.26 lakh. Duster was the first of its kind SUV in India, offering loads of space, wide stance and an even bold character when compared to other cars in its price segment.

Along with the new trim, Renault recently reshuffled the list of equipment on various trims. RxL and RxS trims are offered with steering mounted audio controls, trip computer, adjustable wing mirrors and ECO mode. The CVT equipped model gets a touchscreen infotainment system without satellite navigation. The mid spec Duster RxL trim on the diesel powered Duster is placed at INR 11.87 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Indian market has a lower appeal for petrol cars in the urban SUV segment.
