November 2023 Toyota Sales Analysis: Innova, HyCross, Fortuner, Glanza, Hilux

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), which had significant festive growth during October 2023, also had better YoY sales in the previous month. Total domestic sales were 16,924 units, while exports were 894 units. Toyota also scheduled a week-long shutdown for machine and equipment maintenance from November 11 to November 19, 2023.

November 2023 Toyota YoY Sales Breakup

Sales of Toyota vehicles increased to 16,924 in November 2023 from 11,765 in November 2022, a 43.85% increase. This corresponded to a 5,159 unit increase in volume. With 4,254 sales in November 2023, the Innova Hycross held the top spot in the company's lineup in terms of sales, accounting for 25.14 percent of the total.

The Glanza premium hatchback saw a 10.08 percent YoY decline in sales to 3,950 units from 4,393 units in November 2022. Last month, the Glanza ranked ninth among the best-selling hatchbacks. While sales of the Toyota Crysta increased by 31.16 percent year over year to 2,656 units, sales of the Toyota HyRyder fell 3.56 percent year over year to 3,005 units, and sales of 3,116 units in November 2022 were lower. In November 2022, 2,025 Crysta units had been sold.

Additionally, sales of the Fortuner decreased 4.63 percent year over year to 1,876 units from 1,967 units sold in November 2022. In August 2023, the relatively new Rumion was introduced to the market; it has increased company sales by 718 units and secured a 4.24 percent position on this list.

Both the Toyota Hilux (214 units) and Camry (198 units) saw notable year-over-year growth. Sales of Hilux vehicles increased by 478.38 percent year over year from 37 units sold in November 2022, while sales of Camry vehicles increased by 67.80 percent from 118 units sold in the same month last year. Conversely, Vellfire sales decreased from 109 units sold in November of previous year to 53 units in November 2023, a 51.38 percent decrease.

November 2023 will see Toyota's MoM de-growth

November 2023 saw a 17.61 percent MoM decline in sales for Toyota. Due to a drop in volume of 3,618 units, sales decreased to 16,924 units from 20,542 units sold in October 2023. Sales of nearly every model in the company's portfolio have decreased.

Sales of Hycross decreased by 15.23% to 4,254 units from 5,018 units sold in October 2023, while sales of Glanza decreased by 16.38% from 4,724 units sold in the same month. HyRyder sales also decreased by 24.63 percent, from 3,987 units sold in October 2023 to 3,005 units sold in the most recent month. Lower MoM sales were also observed by the Innova Crysta (-16.08 percent), Fortuner (-24.20 percent), and Rumion (-9.34 percent).

On the other hand, demand for the Toyota Camry increased marginally from 197 units sold in October 2023 to 198 units in November 2023, a rise of 0.51 percent. There was exceptional demand for the Toyota Vellfire, whose sales climbed by 1666.67 percent to 53 units in the previous month from just 3 units sold in October 2023. Sales of the Hilux also increased by 18.23 percent to 214 units in November 2023 from 181 units sold in October 2023.
