Italian bike manufacturer Moto Morini has enriched its lineup with the unveiling of the new Calibro, a stylish 650cc cruiser. As the name suggests, this beauty is powered by the same 649cc parallel-twin engine found in Morini's other models, the X-Cape adventure bike and the Seiemmezzo scrambler.
A Powerful Heart
The heart of the Calibro, which comes from CFMoto and bears a striking resemblance to Kawasaki's 649cc parallel-twin engine, delivers robust performance. In the X-Cape and Seiemmezzo models, it churns out approximately 60 horsepower and 54Nm of torque. It's safe to expect similar figures from the Calibro. However, there's a twist - Moto Morini will also offer an A2-compliant version of the cruiser, limiting the power to 35kW (47.6hp) for riders who need to adhere to certain licensing restrictions.
Noteworthy Features
Distinguishing itself from Morini's other models, the Calibro boasts a conventional telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers, offering a different riding experience. Braking duties are handled by a single disc at both ends, clamped by J Juan calipers. The wheels, with an 18-inch front and a 16-inch rear, are wrapped in grippy Timsun rubber. Notably, the seat height is a rider-friendly 720mm ensuring that a wide range of riders can comfortably straddle this cruiser.

While full specifications and details will be unveiled at the EICMA motorcycle show later this year, a few key features have been teased. The Calibro's fuel tank boasts a generous 15-litre capacity, promising extended journeys between pit stops. In terms of styling, the Calibro leans towards the sportier side of cruiser design. Its fuel tank is slim and shapely, adorned with a compact headlight shroud that adds a touch of sportiness. The fork gaiters provide a neat finishing touch to the front end.
Price Points
Pricing information for the Calibro is expected to be disclosed at the EICMA event, scheduled from November 7 to 12 in Milan. With Moto Morini's two existing models already available in the market, there's a chance that the Calibro could make its way to international shores, including India. However, the popularity of cruisers in India lags behind adventure bikes and scramblers, making it less certain. Only time will reveal the cruiser's destiny in the Indian market.
