The Piaggio Group teased the audience in September with a sneak peek of the new 2022 Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello, and now at EICMA 2021, it has disclosed further details of the forthcoming sport-touring model. The Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello is named after the brand’s 100th anniversary and its historic location in Mandello del Lario, Italy, but it’s loaded with features that look to the future rather than the past.

The V100 Mandello is equipped with the world’s first adaptive aerodynamics system for a production motorcycle, as well as the first Moto Guzzi with a liquid-cooled engine, six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU), quick shift, and semi-active suspension for the higher trim option.

The new 1048cc “compact block” liquid-cooled DOHC 90° V-Twin engine with four valves per cylinder powers the V100 Mandello. The engine is 4.1 inches shorter than the V85 TT’s engine, and its cylinder heads have been twisted 90 degrees in contrast to regular Moto Guzzi engines to improve intake and fuel injection system placement.

Moreover, Moto Guzzi claims 115 hp and 105 nm of torque. Piaggio did not disclose what engine speeds generated those maximum numbers, but it did give a rev maximum of 9500 rpm and claimed 90 per cent of the max torque arrives at 3500 rpm. Cornering lights, cruise control, and a 5-inch TFT display are among the other electronic options available.
