Maruti Suzuki Gets Approval to Build New Facility in Sonipat

Haryana’s CM Manoharlal Khattar announced to allot 900-acre land to Maruti to establish a new production plant in Sonipat, a district in Haryana. He stated that this step will aid carmakers to increase their production and hence promote the automobile field to heights. Apart from that the State government has also given the company SGST reimbursement for 15 years and hopes that the new plant and other secondary units would generate around 1 lakh new jobs, thus reducing unemployment.

As India at the start of the month informed that due to the shortage of semiconductor chips and electronic components at the global level, Maruti is expecting a decline in the productions at the plants that are already situated in Haryana and also at the parent plant in Gujarat. The company produces 19 lakh cars every year at Gurugram and Manesar production plants and the Sonipat factory is expected to produce at least 7.5 lakh units yearly.

The automaker mentioned that according to their observations the total production volume past both previous factories in Haryana could be around 85% of the normal launch in November. If compared with the last year’s production figures, the month of October was not as sparkling as the company awaited since the sales went below their expectations. Despite all the demands being fulfilled, the company continues to suffer a gradual decrease in production due to the chip’s shortfall.

Apart from that, Maruti Suzuki recently launched the MY2022 Celerio in India, which comes with a very simple and sober exterior. From the front, it resembles other Maruti cars with a unique feature of fog lamps and reflector headlights. Its design language is quite similar to that of Alto and Espresso. The car rides on 15-inch alloy wheels and has power-driven foldable outside rearview mirrors. The company tried to maintain the clean look of the car.
