Kia has given a significant update to the HTK+ trim of its popular compact SUV the Seltos by adding new features, colors and powertrain options. This update aims to enhance the Seltos' appeal in the competitive compact SUV segment.
Enhanced HTK+ Trim
The HTK+ trim of the Seltos, which was already a value-for-money offering, has been further bolstered with additional features. Interestingly, there has been no price increment announced for this updated trim, although a 3% price hike is expected from April 2024.
New Colors and Powertrains
The updated HTK+ trim now includes the Aurora Black shade, along with five other color options. Additionally, the powertrain options have been expanded to include 1.5L NA Petrol iVT and 1.5L Turbo Diesel 6AT, in addition to the existing 1.5L NA Petrol 6MT, 1.5L Turbo Petrol 6iMT, 1.5L Turbo Diesel 6MT, and 1.5L Turbo Diesel 6iMT.
Added Features
The updated HTK+ trim now boasts a range of new features, including:
- Smart Key with push-button start/stop
- Smart Key remote engine start/stop
- Star Map LED connected tail lamps
- Fully automatic climate control AC
- Dual-pane panoramic sunroof (exclusive to the HTK+ Turbo 1.5 variant)
Other existing features such as 16-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, rear defogger, rear washer and wiper, power folding ORVMs, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and projector fog lights remain unchanged.
Competition
The Kia Seltos continues to compete with other compact SUVs in the market, such as the Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, and Citroen C3 Aircross.
With the updated HTK+ trim Kia aims to strengthen the Seltos' position in the compact SUV segment by offering a more attractive package to potential buyers. The additional features, colors and powertrain options are expected to broaden the Seltos' appeal and cater to a wider range of preferences.
