Ducati India has confirmed the launch date for two of its most-awaited products in India. Indian fans would witness the launch of Ducati Monster 797 and Multistrada 950 on June 14, 2017 @ 11:30 AM. These bikes will join the existing Monster and Multistrada lineup but would definitely bring down the starting price to a much more relaxed point. As the prices were leaked even before the official announcement, Monster 797 will be priced at 7.82 lakh while Multistrada 950 will get a price tag of INR 11.53 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Currently, Monster 821 is the most affordable naked street bike in the lineup, carrying a price tag of INR 9.72 lakh. This will make the the newcomer INR 1.90 lakh cheaper than the most affordable current Monster series motorcycle. In case of the new Multistrada 950, the price will go down by INR 3.30 lakh in comparison to the Multistrada 1200, which is priced at INR 14.85 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). This makes the Multistrada 950 a pure value for money machine @ INR 11.53 lakhs. However, cost cutting would be clearly visible with the new products sharing parts with other motorcycles for keeping the cost under check.

Ducati Monster 797 will use the 803 cc, twin cylinder air cooled engine from the Scrambler series while Multistrada will come equipped with dual sided swingarm, both being the most easily possible cost cutting features that could be used by Ducati.

The engine on the younger Multistrada will also be sourced from another Ducati motorcycle. Ducati is yet to announce the launch date for other important products like SuperSport and new Scramblers, both of which will also launch in India in the present year.
