The 2020 Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has been recently unveiled by the brand at the Auto Expo. Now equipped with a K15B 1.5-litre petrol engine, the brand had sacked off the 1.3-litre diesel engine for their highest selling compact SUV in the Indian market. In addition to this, the all-new price tags for the updated SUV will be revealed later, though the bookings have already begun at the dealerships.
The brand will not be updating the existing diesel engine on the last-gen Brezza according to the BS6 emission norms while it is for the first time in 5 years that a petrol engine has been offered to it.
Coming to the cosmetic changes, there hasn’t been any major updates offered to the 2020 model of the Maruti Brezza as it features a slightly redesigned front end with a twin-slat thick chrome grille mated to revised headlights at either side. The headlight setup is further mated to large LED DRLs. The lower part of the bumper now features faux skid plates while the fog lamps housing has also been tweaked a bit.
The top-spec variant of the 2020 Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza petrol will feature machine cut dual-tone alloy wheels while the rear profile of the SUV has been kept the same with only minimal changes made to the tail light clusters. The updated SUV will now be available to the customers in three new dual-tone colour schemes namely Sizzling Red, Torque Blue and Granite Grey. The former two will be available with a Midnight Black roof while the latter will feature an Autumn Orange roof.

In addition to the dual-tone colours, the 2020 Maruti Vitara Brezza will be available to the customers in standard monotone colours as well. Powering the compact SUV is a BS6-compliant 1.5-litre petrol engine that is good for offering maximum power of 105HP and a peak torque of 138Nm. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission while the buyers can also opt for a 4-speed AT gearbox.
Coming to the interiors, the 2020 model of the SUV features identical cabin design while there is an all-new SmartPlay Studio 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system in addition to cruise control, automatic wipers and more. The standard safety package also remains the same for the Vitara Brezza petrol.
Commenting on the unveiling of the Maruti Vitara Brezza petrol, Mr Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “Vitara Brezza created a disruption amongst compact SUVs. Offering a new dual-tone design, class-leading features, outstanding fuel-efficiency and personalisation options, Vitara Brezza quickly emerged as a segment leader. Keeping up with its strong, urban and premium appeal, the all-new Vitara Brezza is bolder, sportier and more powerful. We are confident that all-new Vitara Brezza too will continue the legacy with overwhelming customer response.”
