Ford EcoSport Thunder Edition Photos Leaked: The ever-increasing competition in the sub-four-meter SUV segment has resulted in the car makers to work on new and more feature-loaded variants every now and then. Ford launched the Ecosport facelift in November 2017 and last year the brand also launched its Signature edition.
Well, the images of the Ford Ecosport Thunder edition have leaked online, and it seems like the brand is all set to launch a new mid-range variant to take on its rivals. The leaked set of images fully reveal the exterior and interior of the Ecosport Thunder edition.
Talking about the exterior, the compact SUV features a black anti-glare hood decal with similarly designed graphics on the sides and on the tailgate. The car features a Thunder badge at the back just below where EcoSport is written. The car has also got faux air inlets, black front bumper applique, a new and unique set of 17-inch black alloy wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Ecopia tyres with a black spare wheel cover.
The car’s headlamp bezels, radiator grille border, fog lamp housing, ORVMs, roof rails, and the roof also comes in black in symmetry with the dual-tone exterior theme. The interior of the EcoSport Thunder edition also carries a dual-tone theme. It will come in two different options: Black with Beige, and Black with Orange. The interior images of the car suggest that its equipment list will most likely come with passive keyless entry, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, leather upholstery, and automatic climate control.
Mechanically, no confirmed information is available about its engine. Though, the regular EcoSport model is available with three different engines: 1.5L TDCi diesel, 1.5L Ti-VCT petrol, and a 1.0L EcoBoost petrol. Its 1.5L petrol engine (123 PS/150 Nm) comes mated to a 5-speed MT or a 6-speed AT gearbox.
The 1.5L TDCi diesel variant (100 PS / 205 Nm) is available with only a 5-speed manual transmission, while the 1.0L EcoBoost petrol comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The upcoming EcoSport Thunder edition is expected to get a lower price tag than the EcoSport S variant, which is available with a starting price tag of INR 11,38,400 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the petrol variant.
