In addition to the Yamaha NVX155 Doxou, the brand has also unveiled the Y15ZR Doxou, the sports fashion edition 2-wheeler at Yamaha Gen Blu Carnival at MAEPS, Serdang, Malaysia. The two-wheeler gets a price tag of RM8,868 (INR 1.50 lakh approximately).
It is the second recent offering from the brand in its premium sporty segment. Featuring the same dark matte blue treatment at the front in addition to the reddish-bronze panels, the newly unveiled crossover from Yamaha shrieks of exclusivity and class.
The standard variant of the moped is currently available at a price tag of RM7,888 (INR 1.34 lakh approximately) in Malaysia. The brand is offering the limited Edition Y15ZR Doxou with a gift set which features engine and chassis details in addition to the specially designed Doxou headphones, keychains and an ownership certificate.
The bold Doxou body graphics offer a unique look to the 2-wheeler while the limited edition exclusive light blue wheel at the rear and black wheel at the front with a blue pinstripe adds to the overall aggressive profile of the Yamaha Y15ZR.
Apart from the cosmetic changes, the moped remains mechanically unaltered. Powering the Yamaha Y15ZR Doxou is a 150cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine capable of churning out a maximum power 15.2HP at 8,500 rpm and 13.8 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm.
The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The braking duties on the Y15ZR Doxou are handled by single disc brakes at either end. The moped gets a kerb weight of 115kgs while the fuel tank capacity stands at 4.2-litres.
The Gen Blu Carnival has been awarded a place in the Malaysia Book of Records as the largest single-make gathering of two-wheelers in Malaysia. The carnival witnessed a total of 11,836 Yamaha 2-wheelers in the entire running duration. Yamaha Y15ZR Doxou in addition to Yamaha MT-09 and one another mystery bike was nominated for a lucky draw at the carnival.
