Renegade Duty 230 S was officially unveiled at Auto Expo 2018. It was earlier spied in production-ready guise at a dealership stockyard. This model is presently available in the international lineup under UM Global branding. UM had also unveiled a higher placed variant named Duty 230 Ace.
The official pricing for both models will stay INR 1.10 lakh for Duty 230 S and INR 1.29 lakh for 230 Ace. A recent official report from UM claims that the entry-level model will launch around September 2018.

When compared to present day UM lineup, Duty 230 feels tiny and clearly show cost-effective components and parts all over. It comes with basic round headlight that almost every cruiser around this segment supports internationally. Peanut fuel tank looks good while focus primarily shifts to comfort through its wide and comfortable seat layout.
The dimensions seem to make Renegade Duty 230 a city-friendly product. Rider gets an upright sitting position with relaxed arms and legs. It measures 1975mm in length, 730mm wide and 1050 mm in height. The seat height on offer stays impressive at 756 mm. Before its introduction, UM will launch 2 variants based on their existing lineup of products in India.
UM Renegade Duty 230 S comes with impressive alloy wheel design while disc brake used here is shared with bigger UM 280cc bikes. The direct rival to Duty 230 will be Bullet 350 while UM is trying its best to fetch sales out of Classic 350’s stable. This seems the perfect move in this direction.

Availability of the 223cc, single cylinder engine in its international lineup helped UM put this product on the fastest possible route. This engine is good for 17 HP at 8000 rpm and 17 Nm at 5000 rpm. It comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. UM Renegade Duty 230 S comes in matte finish for the Indian market.
A backrest was seen on some images while the variant seen for India comes without any rear support. Both bikes are offered with a 10-liter fuel tank. UM will launch ABS and Fi variants of Duty series by the end of this year. Also, they are planning to introduce a 450cc and 650cc motorcycle in India before 2020.
