The much-awaited Hero Xtreme 160R has been listed on the brand’s official website thereby confirming its launch in the Indian markets in the coming weeks. Though the manufacturer was expected to launch the motorcycle sometime at the end of March 2020, the production of the motorcycle has been halted due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic crisis. Article image In terms of design, the aggressive streetfighter styling of the motorcycle is accentuated by a bulky fuel tank design with a sharper rear profile flowing towards the back. In addition to this, the brand has equipped the motorcycle with LED headlight and taillight setup adding to the premium bits while the fuel tank extensions further impart it a muscular outlook. The turn indicators equipped on the Hero Xtreme 160R have also been offered LED lighting while the fully-digital instrument console offers apt riding data. Article image Powering the motorcycle is a BS6-compliant 160cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that is capable of offering maximum power of 15HP @ 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 14Nm @ 6,500 rpm. The motorcycle has been equipped with a single-channel ABS as standard while the customers can avail it with a rear disc or drum brake setup. Article image The suspension duties on the Hero Xtreme 160R are handled by Showa-sourced telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock absorber at the rear. The motorcycle will be available to the customers in three colour schemes namely red, white and blue while the starting price tag is expected to be around INR 90,000 (ex-showroom). Once launched in India, the motorcycle will compete in the market against the likes of Suzuki Gixxer 155, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Yamaha FZ V3, and the Honda CB Hornet 160R. More news on the upcoming motorcycle is expected to surface shortly. You can click here for complete specifications of the Hero Xtreme 160R.
