MG Motor India has recently launched two new variants of the Hector SUV, namely the Shine Pro and Select Pro. These variants are priced at Rs. 16 lakh and Rs. 17.3 lakh respectively (ex-showroom). Unlike an ordinary facelift these variants come with enhanced features offering more value to customers.
Top five highlights of these new variants:
1. Digital Convenience: In terms of convenience features, the new Hector variants offer a range of upgrades. These include speed control, electric parking brake, and push-button engine start-stop with a smart key. The highlight, however, is the introduction of the first-in-segment digital Bluetooth key and key-sharing capability. This feature allows owners to share their car key digitally with family members or friends adding a new level of convenience and flexibility to the ownership experience.
2. Enhanced Infotainment: One of the standout features of these new variants is the enhanced infotainment system. Both the Shine Pro and Select Pro come equipped with a large 14-inch HD portrait infotainment system. This feature was previously available only in the top-spec models of the Hector. The infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto allowing for smooth smartphone integration. Additionally, both variants feature a fully digital instrument cluster with a large LCD screen providing drivers with all the information they need at all times.
3. Standard Sunroof: Another notable addition to the Hector lineup is the inclusion of a sunroof as standard on both the Shine Pro and Select Pro variants. While the Select Pro variant comes with a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, the Shine Pro variant features a single-pane electric sunroof. This adds to the premium feel of the SUV and enhances the overall driving experience for passengers.
4. MG Shield: In terms of ownership experience, MG is offering its unique car ownership program, MG Shield, to all customers purchasing the new Hector variants. This program includes a warranty of three years with unlimited kilometres, three years of roadside assistance, and three labour-free periodic services. This comprehensive package provides customers with peace of mind and ensures that their ownership experience is trouble-free.
5. Competitive Pricing: In addition to the new features and enhancements, MG has also announced competitive pricing for the Hector lineup. The starting price for the Hector now stands at Rs. 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom), making it even more attractive to potential buyers. This aggressive pricing strategy coupled with the new features and enhancements, is expected to drive sales of the Hector and further strengthen MG's position in the highly competitive SUV market in India.
The Hector continues to be powered by two BS6 compliant engine options a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine is available with a six-speed manual or a CVT unit while the diesel engine is paired with a manual gearbox. These new variants further enhance Hector's appeal in the highly competitive SUV segment offering customers more choice and value for money.
