The MG Hector, a popular mid-size SUV, looks towards another round of price revisions making it more competitive in its segment. The base variant now starts at an attractive price of Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom), marking a significant reduction of almost Rs 96,000. This most recent modification is a part of MG's plan to improve Hector's attractiveness and draw in additional clients.
Variant Reshuffle
MG has introduced two new variants, namely the ‘Shine Pro’ and ‘Select Pro’, which replace the previous ‘Shine’ and ‘Smart’ trims, respectively. Compared to their predecessors these new models are equipped with an increased number of features. The Shine Pro variant, positioned as the new second-from-base option, offers a range of features including 17-inch alloy wheels, a 14-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a single-pane sunroof, push-button start, a 6-speaker sound system, and more.
Enhanced Features
Moving up the range, the Select Pro trim boasts larger 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, interior LED reading lights, connected car capabilities, and an 8-speaker sound system with woofer and amplifier. Both the Shine Pro and Select Pro variants are available with petrol and diesel engine options, with a premium of Rs. 20,000 for the diesel engine over the previous variants.
Hector Plus Updates
The 6-seater Hector Plus, the 3-row version of the Hector, has also seen some updates. It now includes a new entry-level Style trim priced at Rs 17 lakh for the diesel manual configuration, reducing the cost by a substantial Rs 2.40 lakh. Furthermore, the 7-seater Hector Plus introduces the new Select Pro variant, replacing the outgoing Smart variant. This variant comes with price increases of Rs 25,000 for the petrol version and Rs 20,000 for the diesel version.
