2024 Kawasaki Versys 650 Debuts in India at Rs 7.77 Lakh

Kawasaki India has recently launched the 2024 Kawasaki Versys 650 at an introductory price of Rs 7,77,000 (ex-showroom), maintaining the same price as the 2023 model. Kawasaki made this news on its social media accounts. While there haven't been any significant changes to the adventure motorcycle Kawasaki has introduced new color options to enhance its appeal.

New Color Options

The 2024 Versys 650 is now available in two colors: Metallic Matte Dark Grey / Ebony and Metallic Flat Spark Black / Candy Lime Green. The Metallic Matte Dark Grey / Ebony color scheme offers a triple-tone finish of black, grey, and red on the headlight cowl, tank extension, and tail section. On the other hand, the Metallic Flat Spark Black / Candy Lime Green features a similar design with a triple-tone finish of green, black, and grey on the front section and tail, with "Kawasaki" written on the tank in green.

Unchanged Performance and Underpinnings

Despite the introduction of new colors, the Kawasaki Versys 650 retains its performance and underpinnings from the previous model. It continues to be powered by the same 649cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, producing 67PS at 8500rpm and 61Nm at 7000rpm.

Advanced Suspension and Braking System

The bike is constructed on a tubular diamond frame and features a 41mm inverted fork with preload and adjustable rebound damping, along with an off-set mono-shock with preload adjustability. It offers a front and rear wheel travel of 150mm and 145mm, respectively. Braking duties are handled by twin 300mm petal discs at the front and a single 250mm petal disc at the rear. The bike has a kerb weight of 219kg and a ground clearance of 170mm. It is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels and tires with 120 sections up front and 160 sections along the back.

Feature-Rich Experience

The Versys 650 comes equipped with a 4.3-inch color TFT display with smartphone connectivity via the Kawasaki Rideology app. Essential data like speed, gear position, fuel level, trip meter, and odometer readouts are displayed on the instrument console, along with average fuel usage and remaining range. Additionally, it includes rider aids like Kawasaki's two-mode traction control system for added safety along with dual-channel ABS. Other noteworthy features include a windscreen that can be raised or lowered by riders via a button under the instrument console.

Competition and Conclusion

The Kawasaki Versys 650 competes in the 600-700cc adventure motorcycle segment, facing rivals like the Triumph Tiger 660. Adventure seekers find the Versys 650 to be an appealing option since, despite its minor modifications, it still provides a flexible and feature-rich riding experience.
