2024 Bajaj Pulsar 150 Arrives at Dealerships with Upgrades

The Pulsar range has long been one of the most beloved motorcycle sub-brands in India capturing the hearts of countless motorcycling fans with its enduring popularity and loyalty. While the 125cc Pulsars have been significant volume generators for Bajaj, it's equally important to keep the Pulsar 150 updated. And that's precisely what Bajaj is doing with a substantial update.

2024 Bajaj Pulsar 150 Hits Dealerships

This update is significant because the Pulsar 150 has remained largely unchanged for a considerable period. Although Bajaj updated the Pulsar 150's engine to comply with BS6 emission norms in 2020 and 2023, the design and features have remained more or less the same since around 2008.

Bajaj has wisely chosen not to tinker with the iconic design of the Pulsar 150, which is a smart move. The original Pulsar design has stood the test of time and remains timeless. Much of the Pulsar brand's success today can be attributed to the legacy of the Pulsar 150. Therefore, much is riding on this update, and Bajaj has opted for a straightforward approach.

Updates in Design

While the design remains largely unchanged, Bajaj has introduced new and more stylish graphics to appeal to younger audiences. These new graphics, along with a 3D Pulsar logo on the fuel tank, add a sporty flair. Other design elements such as muscular tank shrouds and an underbelly cowl are retained.

New Digital Instrument Screen

For the first time in the history of the Pulsar 150, Bajaj is offering a fully digital instrument console, similar to recent updates seen in other Pulsar models. The large LCD cluster provides all the necessary vehicle information at a glance, replacing the old analog/digital instrument cluster. This new cluster features digital tachometer and speedometer along with a gear position indicator. It also supports Bluetooth connectivity allowing smartphone connection via Bajaj's proprietary app. However, it would have been preferable if Bajaj had included turn-by-turn navigation features, as seen in the recently updated NS160 and NS200 models.

Powertrain and Features

The powertrain remains unchanged, with the 149.5cc single-cylinder air-cooled 2V SOHC engine delivering 13.8 bhp of peak power and 13.2 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. Features such as clip-on handlebars, split seat, dual disc brakes, 90/90-17 front, and 120/80-17 rear tires, USB charger, and halogen turn indicators remain unchanged. Interestingly, dual-channel ABS, previously unavailable on the Pulsar 150, is now mentioned by AutoTechInfo.

Expected Launch and Price

The 2024 Bajaj Pulsar 150 is expected to hit the Indian market soon, with prices likely starting from Rs. 1,38,928 (on road, Uttar Pradesh) for the top-spec variant showcased. Official ex-showroom prices are expected to be announced shortly.
