2020 Hyundai Verna Spotted in a New Set of Photos

2020 Hyundai Verna Spotted (New Photos): After a long wait, finally, the first set of images of the updated Verna sedan has surfaced online, which originated from China. The 2020 Verna’s styling shows the car more in line with the newer Hyundai models sold abroad like the latest-gen Sonata, the refreshed Elantra and the Ioniq. The images that have surfaced on the web shows the upcoming car with significant changes. It now gets the more aggressive and edgy design as compared to its previous model. Upfront, the car now features a wider and sleeker iteration of the trademark cascade grill with much larger headlamps that sort of merge with the grille. The headlamps itself have three different sections that are divided by chrome outlines that feature separate enclosures for the projector headlamp, the parking lamp, and the turn indicator. The bumper of the car also gets an all-new and improved design with a mix of satin grey bits and black plastic. Also, the 2020 Hyundai Verna will get new alloy wheel design for the higher variants getting diamond-cut dual-tone alloy wheels with a similar look as it is seen on the Venue that is sold in India and the new ix25 SUV that is sold in China. Coming towards the back of the car there lies a major change. The boot design for the car is all-new, and so is the tail light cluster connected via a thin LED strip that runs across the car’s width. The number plate enclosure is still on the boot but this time it has been placed a bit lower. Mechanically, the facelifted Verna will come with a new set of 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options. These new engines will be BSVI-compliant and will also be seen in other Hyundai models like the next-gen Creta as well as the refreshed Elantra. The new Verna’s 1.5-litre petrol engine will also come in a pack with a 48V hybrid system and will be future-ready. However, there is no confirmation that the India-spec Verna will look similar to China-specific model, but if we look at Hyundai’s global design strategy, we can expect it to look similar to the one we see in these spy photos.
