USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict

It is a car made for eco friendly city people who want to minimize their carbon footprint without sacrificing comfort. But if you are a family wanting to live out of it for a longer time, the small boot and less than abundant space in the rear isn’t going to help. If you are in the market for an electric vehicle, the IONIQ is one of the better EVs if you are looking for a mid range EV that can fit your urban lifestyle where charging stations are available.

Price

The Hyundai IONIQ EV’s pricing starts at approximately ? 24.99 lakh for the base variant and goes up to ? 28.99 lakh for the top-end model. On-road prices in major cities like Delhi and Mumbai can range from ? 31.50 lakh to ? 45.00 lakh, depending on the variant and additional options like fast charging. The IONIQ also offers competitive pricing in the EV market for its class, positioning itself as an affordable electric vehicle with premium features.

Though India’s EV incentive policies have changed, Hyundai had also cut prices on IONIQ under the new government subsidy programs, which made it more affordable for budget conscious buyers.

Wednesday, 02 April 2025 07:19 AM The 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 has introduced a new XRT trim, which features a higher ride height, all-terrain tires, and distinct visual tweaks, making it more suitable for off-road adventures. This update also includes mild styling changes, a revised center console, and an upgraded infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. I think this new trim will appeal to those who want a bit more ruggedness in their electric SUV.
Saturday, 15 March 2025 01:19 PM Hyundai has enhanced the IONIQ 5s battery capacity for the 2025 model year, with the larger battery pack increasing from 77.4 kWh to 84.0 kWh, resulting in an estimated range of up to 318 miles per charge. This improvement, along with the adoption of the NACS charging port and a CCS adapter, makes charging more convenient. I believe this will significantly boost the vehicles appeal in the Indian market where range anxiety is a major concern.
Thursday, 20 February 2025 05:49 PM The 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 now features a Tesla Supercharger-compatible NACS port, allowing users to charge at over 17,000 Tesla Superchargers without an adapter. This, combined with access to 36,000 DC fast chargers nationwide, including 250kW Level 3 options, enhances the vehicles charging convenience. I think this move will make long-distance travel in an EV much more practical.
Saturday, 25 January 2025 03:37 AM Hyundai has updated the IONIQ 5s safety features for 2025, including enhancements to Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and the addition of a side-impact collision avoidance feature. These updates aim to provide a safer driving experience. I believe these advanced safety features will be a major selling point in the Indian market.
Sunday, 15 December 2024 01:49 AM The 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 N, a high-performance variant, has been unveiled with up to 641 hp and track-ready features, making it the most powerful Hyundai ever. This model can accelerate from 0-60 mph in approximately 3.25 seconds when using N Launch Control and N Grin Boost. I think this will be a game-changer for performance enthusiasts in India.
Wednesday, 20 November 2024 02:57 AM Hyundai has announced that the 2025 IONIQ 5 will come with a limited battery warranty covering 10 years or 100,000 miles, along with a powertrain warranty of 10 years or 100,000 miles. This extended warranty should provide buyers with added peace of mind. I believe this warranty will be a significant selling point, especially in a market where durability is a key concern.
Wednesday, 30 October 2024 08:52 AM The 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 features an upgraded infotainment system with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The vehicle also includes Vehicle-to-Load 120V charging outlets, allowing users to power appliances and equipment directly from the vehicle. I think these tech upgrades will make the IONIQ 5 a more appealing choice for tech-savvy buyers.
Wednesday, 25 September 2024 03:17 PM Hyundai has introduced an EV Route Planner for the 2025 IONIQ 5, which helps locate charging stations along specific routes and refreshes the navigation system accordingly. This feature aims to reduce range anxiety and make long trips more manageable. I believe this will be highly beneficial for Indian drivers who often face charging infrastructure challenges.
Thursday, 15 August 2024 01:45 AM The pricing for the 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 in India is expected to start around Rs. 40 lakhs, with the top trim potentially crossing Rs. 60 lakhs. This pricing strategy is aimed at making the vehicle competitive in the growing Indian EV market. I think the pricing will be crucial in determining the vehicles success in India.
Saturday, 20 July 2024 01:01 AM Hyundai has confirmed that the 2025 IONIQ 5 will be available in various trims, including the SE, SEL, and Limited, each offering different levels of features and performance. Discussions and Questions Hyundai IONIQ

What size will the Ioniq 9 be and how will it affect Hyundai’s brand image?
02 January 2025 11:07
It’s not just about the Ioniq 9, but how Hyundai handles the rest of their lineup. They have to be careful not to forget their bread and butter models in the pursuit of the luxury market.
How does the Ioniq 9's design measure up to the Kia EV9?
02 January 2025 11:07
I think each design has its advantages. While the EV9 will probably look dated faster and be less aerodynamic, the Ioniq 9 has that classic SUV appeal. In the end, it’s really a matter of personal preference.
Does EV9’s larger battery pack make a real world difference over the Ioniq 9?
02 January 2025 11:07
We shouldn’t forget about battery degradation. If you have a larger pack, you have more wiggle room as the battery ages. That could make a big difference in the long term ownership experience.
I wonder if the swiveling seats of the Ioniq 9 will influence the family car market.
02 January 2025 11:07
I think it's a game changer for families. How about being able to face your kids on long trips, or a mobile conference room for work? It’s kind of like having a minivan’s versatility in a cooler package.
Do you think the AI enhanced driving features the Ioniq 9 will have are a step towards full autonomy or just fancy cruise control?
02 January 2025 11:07
I think it's somewhere in the middle. These AI features aren’t full autonomy, but they learn and adapt in ways that basic cruise control never could. It’s laying the groundwork for future autonomous systems.

I do like the IONIQ EV that I (obligatorily) drive. Also comes handy for my daily office commutes. It’s premium in the cabin, and there's a lot of features. But on the other hand, charging infrastructure in my area (Mumbai) still sucks and fast chargers aren’t always around.
