Our take on this /// Verdict
The Hyundai IONIQ 6 is a promising entry into the Indian electric vehicle market, but it comes with its set of pros and cons. On the positive side, the IONIQ 6 boasts a sleek and unique design that sets it apart from other sedans. The performance is impressive, with instant torque and smooth acceleration, making it a joy to drive. However, the vehicles weight, which is over 4,600 pounds, can make the ride a bit rough over bumps, and the suspension leans and squats more than ideal. The interior, while well-equipped, has some ergonomic issues, such as the unusual gear lever and firm seats that may not be comfortable for all drivers. Despite these quirks, the IONIQ 6 offers advanced features, rapid charging capabilities, and a serene driving experience, making it a strong contender in the luxury EV segment.
Price
The Hyundai IONIQ 6 is expected to be priced at around 65 lakh in India, which is the estimated ex-showroom price. When you factor in additional costs such as taxes, registration, and insurance, the on-road price could easily exceed 70 lakh. This pricing positions the IONIQ 6 in the luxury segment, competing with other high-end vehicles like the BMW X1 and Audi Q3. While the price may seem steep, it reflects the advanced technology, premium features, and the unique design that the IONIQ 6 offers. For those looking to invest in a luxury electric vehicle with cutting-edge features, the IONIQ 6 could be a worthwhile consideration despite the higher cost.
Latest Updates
Monday, 26 August 2024 07:35 AM Hyundai has recently spotted testing the facelifted version of the IONIQ 6, which is set to debut soon. This updated model features redesigned headlights and a new front bumper, similar to those on the new Hyundai Sonata. Additionally, the IONIQ 6 facelift is expected to include a larger battery for increased range and faster charging. I think these updates will make the IONIQ 6 even more competitive in the electric vehicle market.
Thursday, 01 August 2024 08:59 AM The Hyundai IONIQ 6 is the first Hyundai model to support Over The Air (OTA) vehicle software updates, allowing owners to update their cars software remotely without visiting a dealership. This technology keeps the vehicles performance up-to-date and is free during the complimentary period of Bluelink services. I believe this feature will significantly enhance the ownership experience for IONIQ 6 owners.
Monday, 15 July 2024 10:38 AM Hyundais IONIQ 6 has been praised for its efficiency and range, with the EPA estimating a maximum range of 361 miles for the Long Range RWD model. The vehicle also features advanced technologies like Highway Driving Assist II and Smart Cruise Control, making it a strong contender in the electric sedan segment. I think the IONIQ 6s blend of performance, range, and features makes it an excellent choice for those looking to switch to an electric vehicle.
Saturday, 01 June 2024 08:32 AM The 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 6 will include several new features, such as a head-up display in the Limited trim and the removal of the Digital Green paint option. The vehicle also offers Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) 120V charging outlets, allowing owners to charge devices directly from the car. I believe these additions will further enhance the practicality and appeal of the IONIQ 6.

I do like the IONIQ EV that I (obligatorily) drive. Also comes handy for my daily office commutes. It’s premium in the cabin, and there's a lot of features. But on the other hand, charging infrastructure in my area (Mumbai) still sucks and fast chargers aren’t always around.
