How does the Ioniq 9's design measure up to the Kia EV9?
The Hyundai Ioniq 9 and Kia EV9 are both large electric SUVs built on the same platform but with very different exterior designs. With its own exclusive front fascia and sleek body lines, the Ioniq 9 looks much more futuristic than the conventional models. The EV9, however, has a bolder, more boxy, more rugged look. The stark difference in design philosophy for two vehicles that share so much underneath has led to debate among EV enthusiasts. There are those who favor the Ioniq 9’s sleeker look, and others who are taken with the EV9’s more traditional SUV styling. In addition to influencing the size and style of the vehicle, the design choice also lends itself to issues such as interior space, visibility and aerodynamics which ultimately may affect the overall feel of and the efficiency of any given vehicle.
The Ioniq 9’s design? I’m all in. What I want in an EV is something that looks like it's from the future, and it does. I don't like the EV9, it's too boxy, too old school.
Nah, the EV9 wins hands down. The Ioniq 9 is a bloated space whale. At least the EV9 has character and isn't trying too hard to be 'futuristic'.
I think each design has its advantages. While the EV9 will probably look dated faster and be less aerodynamic, the Ioniq 9 has that classic SUV appeal. In the end, it’s really a matter of personal preference.
I’m growing to like the Ioniq 9’s design. It was too weird at first, but I do like how it stands out. The EV9 just looks like any other SUV on the road.
I'm torn. I worry about practicality, but the Ioniq 9 looks cooler. But those sloping lines could take cargo space and visibility. The EV9 looks more functional for everyday use.
