BMW G310R comes with a single cylinder, water cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve engine with two overhead camshafts and dry sump lubrication. The bike will be exclusively made by TVS in India for BMW and would be sold internationally under the BMW nameplate. Akula 310, a concept based on G310R was a hint that TVS will make a full faired bike under its own name and retail it in the country in the coming time.

TVS Draken was a concept motorcycle and the real life Draken has been named as TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. It comes with a Draken inspired design with larger engine cowls and a naked street bike design. It uses the same pair of alloy wheels and fat tyres for a more aggressive look. The bike uses a 197.75 cc engine producing 20.23 BHP and 18.1 NM of torque. It comes with an attractive price tag of INR 88,990 for the carbureted, non ABS version with TVS Remora tyres. It would be offered with Fuel Injection, ABS and optional Pirelli tyres in the coming month.

The Apache RTR 200 is expected to arrive at the dealership at the end of February 2016. Officially, it has been launched and you can visit your nearest dealership for the booking as well as ask for the time when the bike would be available for test ride. TVS XL100 comes with a mileage of 67 kmpl whereas its weight is just 75 kg. The moped comes with a 4 liter fuel tank. Company has not revealed the power and top speed figure of the same. It comes with a price tag of INR 29,198 (ex-showroom UP) and currently sells in Uttar Pradesh only.

KTM 390 Duke is more practical option when compared to the new TVS G310R. It comes with a more powerful 373.2 cc engine producing 43 BHP and 35 NM of torque. The gearbox is a six-speed unit and KTM gets the best in class power and torque to weight ratios. The 390 Duke gets the lowest weight in its class at just 158 kg. The TVS G310R gets a 313 cc engine producing 33.6 BHP and 28 NM of torque. The values are good for its engine size but it would lack the same punch as the 390 Duke. It weighs just half kg over the Duke, making it a good option when compared with 300 cc bikes. It is expected to be priced around INR 2 lakh, making it the second option after the mighty Duke.

The TVS Apache RTR has not been officially launched in India in Matt Blue shade. The color must have been an upgrade for the festive season and looks perfect on the motorcycle. This may get launched in the second week of October. It can also be a dealer level modification and they may charge a premium over the original price. It is also possible that TVS may launch this as a limited edition model and it would be made in limited numbers for a short period of time, before the Apache RTR 200 arrives in India. The TVS Jupiter ZX comes with the same engine as the standard Jupiter, returning an approx mileage of 40-45 kmpl in the city. The frequent brakes and low speed of driving are the only reasons for the downfall of the figure. Waiting on the red lights with the engine on also leads to lower mileage return. The Jupiter ZX is powered by a 109.7 cc engine producing 7.88 BHP and 8 NM of torque. It gets CVT as a transmission option and comes with 12 inch tyres with alloy wheels. The ZX variant is offered in a limited Matt Blue shade and lacks the disc brake as expected by the customers.

The Apache RTR 160 in its double disc variant comes with a price tag of INR 74,344. The price given in ex-showroom Delhi and does not include mandatory accessories or extended warranty. The motorcycle gets a 159.7 cc engine producing 15.2 BHP @ 8500 rpm and 13.1 NM @ 4000 rpm. It gets a 5-speed gearbox and produces a good amount of torque at low as well as mid range rpm, making it hassle free overtaking machine on the highway as well as a powerful city ride. It weighs 137 kg and gets a top speed of 118 kmph. Its 16 liter fuel tank is good for 600 km stretch.

TVS Apache FX is a dirt bike which is not currently on sale in India. The bike comes with a 300 cc, liquid cooled engine producing nearly 50 BHP as it gets a power value of 160 BHP/liter. Hi, to answer your question we have to learn a little basics about the science of vibrations- So, here we go- Every body in the universe has a natural frequency of vibration. Natural frequency is the frequency at which a body can vibrate freely. Now in the running engine, piston is moving to and fro in the cylinder, which in a way is providing a vibrating force. Now in the case of Apache this vibrating force matches with the bikes natural frequency in between 4000 & 6000 RPM. Therefore the bike starts vibrating freely, but when the RPM falls below 4000 or rises above 6000 it doesn’t matches with the bikes natural frequency, so the vibrations disappear. The bike vibrate in any great when the frequency is matched. In the fifth gear the corresponding speed is 50-80 km per hour. The vibrations can be smoothened up while designing the engine by adding balancing weights and a balancer shaft in the engine, but it increases the friction and weight, there by reducing the throttle response and economy, therefore TVS engineers have not included them, the result is superb performance and good fuel economy (my Apache RTR 180 returns mileage of 55 to 60kmpl, trust me).
