Will the Nissan Terra’s spaciousness come at the cost of performance?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views5 comments
Nissan Terra is famous for its spacious cabin and comfy seats in the third row. On the other hand, several drivers complained that it’s somehow underpowered at highway merges and overtaking. Such a trade-off between space and performance has caused a lot of debates among SUV enthusiasts. But some will point to the large interior room and the practicality for a family and shrug at the need for quick acceleration, while others cry foul because a car in this class is supposed to have both the ability to be comfy and to perform capably. A lot of the discussion is about how the Terra compares to a competitor such as the Toyota Fortuner or Mitsubishi Montero Sport in balancing these aspects.

It’s nice being spacious, but I wish there was a more powerful Nissan engine option. That would make the Terra a much more compelling package.

I think it’s a good balance. Not a race car, but not a slug. It’s a great space, and the performance is good enough for most uses.

Everything depends on your priorities. The Terra has the space for city driving and the occasional highway trip. However, if you’re usually fully loaded, or riding in hilly areas, the lack of power can be frustrating.

No way, performance matters. If your big SUV can't get out of its own way, what's the point? I would rather go for a Fortuner which has a bit more oomph.

Absolutely! I’m a family man and I’ll take space over speed any day. With all their gear, long trips with kids are a godsend in the Terra's roomy interior.
