Which is better, the Fazer8 as a commuter or a weekend warrior?

by Sukhmandeep Kaurover 1 year ago0 views8 comments
With the versatile nature of Yamaha Fazer8, you can be in a debate about its ideal use case. Other riders say its comfortable ergonomics and user friendly power delivery make it ideal for commuting duties. Some say its real potential is unleashed on weekend rides when its sporty heritage and plenty of power can be enjoyed on winding back roads or long stretches of highway. These discussions often compare the Fazer8s to specialized bikes in both categories, and personal anecdotes on how owners use their Fazer8s. Riders share their experience with modifications they made to their bike to suit their style of riding, adding luggage for commuting or upgrading the suspension for more spirited weekend rides.

It's about 60% weekend bike, 40% commuter I'd say. It's a little sportier than a Versys, but a little more practical than a supersport for everyday riding.

It's a better commuter for me. It has great upright ergonomics and a smooth engine that makes it great for dealing with traffic. A pure sport bike is not as sharp in the twisties.

This is the ultimate do it all bike. I have done everything from commuting daily to long weekend trips on mine. Versatility is its strength.

I think it's more towards the weekend warrior side. It’s more than enough power and handling for a commute, but it’s just right for fun rides.

It’s a bit overkill as a commuter. There is no point in having 100+ horsepower to get to work. It's not quite sporty enough to be a true weekend carver though.

It's a perfect 50/50 split. That’s what it’s so great about. You can commute all week and then head to the canyons on the weekends without compromise.

I have mine for commuting and it's great. It’s comfortable, nimble in traffic, and has enough power to get out of sticky situations.

For sure it's more of a weekend bike for me. Stop and go traffic is no fun for the engine. It’s really good on twisty roads.
