What do the Sonet Anniversary Edition's features look like compared to rivals in the same price range?
Based on the mid-spec HTX trim, the Kia Sonet Anniversary Edition comes with auto LED headlamps, a single pane sunroof, keyless entry and go, remote engine start, an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, drive modes (for automatics), automatic climate control and cruise control. But that leaves out some features that deeper pocketed trims get including a larger touchscreen, a connected car tech and premium sound system. There's some debate whether the Sonet Anniversary Edition includes enough features to justify its position when compared to rivals in the same price range which may include cars from Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata and any other. A few claim Kia's overall package is strong, and some others list out features a few rivalers may provide for relatively the same or much less.
The Sonet does a pretty good job, I think. The screen is decent (8 inches) and it’s nice to have a sunroof at this price point.
It's not class leading, but it's good. Some features that the Sonet misses out on, are offered by Venue and XUV300.
The build quality of the Sonet is a step up from some rivals, and in my book that makes up for any missing features.
I wish they had included the larger touchscreen as on higher trims. That would have made it a killer package.
Two things I really like about the drive modes. That kind of customization is something not many rivals offer.
It's a mixed bag. For its part, some areas are really good (like the LED headlamps), but its lack of connected car features is disappointing.
I think the price is competitive. If you're after the latest tech, however, you might want to consider the top spec rivals.
