Is the Pulsar N160 2 Channel ABS reliable for daily commuting?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views9 comments
Many riders depend on their bikes for the daily commute, and so reliability is a vital feature. As a relatively new model, the Pulsar N160 2-Channel ABS has caused some questions about its long term reliability and performance under everyday use. From engine durability, electrical system stability, to how robust the ABS unit is, you have many things to consider. Oil consumption, battery life and how often they need to be serviced are some of the issues riders share their experiences on. This debate is extended to a comparison of maintenance cost and availability of spares parts with older Pulsars models and competitors. The N160 is part of a new generation of models, and some people argue that manufacturing processes and quality control are better, while others say that the older designs are more trusted for every day use.

The only problem I have is that the battery drains a little faster than I suppose. For daily use, everything else has been spot on.

It's perfect as a daily commuter. Easy to maintain, good mileage and it handles stop and go traffic like a champ.

I was skeptical first, but after 10,000 km, I'm impressed. For a new model, it's more reliable than I thought it would be.

Decent, but I've been in the service center more than I care to be. Small issues keep cropping up.

So far, so good. I'm concerned about the long term reliability of the ABS system though. The multi channel version is more complex than the single channel version.

I have found it more reliable than my old Pulsar 150. It doesn't gulp oil like the older model and the engine feels smoother.

For my 30km daily commute, it's been great. It's fuel efficient, comfortable, and the ABS makes me feel confident on unpredictable traffic.

It's a reliable engine but I've had a bit of electrical niggles. Not major, but annoying for a new bike.

I’ve done 15,000 km in 8 months of daily commuting and it’s been rock solid. No major issues, just regular service.
