Our take on this /// Verdict
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno VXi, from the 1999-2007 model years, is a testament to the blend of performance, comfort, and value that defined its era. This sedan boasts a powerful 1.6-liter, 4-cylinder engine, producing 94 BHP and 135 Nm of torque, which makes it a joy to drive, especially on highways. The handling is smooth, and the suspension system is excellent at minimizing road jerks. However, the cars exterior design, while good from the front, is less impressive from the rear, and the ground clearance can be a issue on Indias rough roads. Despite being discontinued, the Baleno VXi remains a reliable choice for those seeking a balance of power and comfort, though the high cost of spare parts and limited availability of certain components are notable drawbacks.
Price
When the Maruti Suzuki Baleno VXi was available in the market, its ex-showroom price in India was around 6.84 lakh for the top BS-III variant. On-road prices varied depending on the state and local taxes, but it typically ranged from 7.5 lakh to 8 lakh. Considering its performance, features, and the segment it belonged to, the Baleno VXi was a competitive offering. However, for those looking to purchase a used model today, prices can vary widely based on the cars condition, mileage, and location, but you can expect to pay anywhere from 1.5 lakh to 3.5 lakh.
Mileage
Friday, 22 November 2024 06:43 PM
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno VXi offers a reasonable mileage for its segment. On highways, it can deliver around 10 kmpl, while in city conditions, the mileage drops to about 8-10 kmpl. This is decent considering the cars powerful engine and the era in which it was designed. For users concerned about running costs, the Baleno VXi is a viable option, especially if you can manage to find a well-maintained model with a CNG kit, which can further enhance fuel efficiency.
