Does the Seltos X-Line’s interior quality hold up to more premium brands?
While the Kia Seltos X-Line is the top end trim of the Seltos lineup, it also comes with a more premium interior than the base models. And it has the leather upholstery, larger infotainment screen and more soft touch materials throughout the cabin. But the debate continues to rage over how well the X-Line's interior holds up against more premium or even luxury brands, given how close its pricing can get to entry level luxury. On one hand, some owners and reviewers wax positively about the X-Line providing a near luxury experience at a mainstream price, while on the other, they regard it as being somewhat wanting of the material quality, fit and finish and overall refinement associated with established luxury marques. It’s especially relevant given that more mainstream brands are moving upmarket with their top trims, making the distinction between mass market and luxury segments less clear.
The interior of the X-Line impressed me. Materials feel high quality and design is modern. It’s not quite Audi level, but for the price you can’t really complain.
For a Kia, it’s good, but it’s not up to par with a true luxury brand. Some areas feel cheap, in terms of plastics, and the overall fit and finish doesn't quite make it, either.
I think it hits a sweet spot. It’s 90% of the premium feel at 70% of the cost of a luxury brand. That's more than enough for most people.
In fact the tech in the X Line is better than some luxury cars I've been in. It’s really upscale feeling with all the big screens and features.
It's all smoke and mirrors. It’s fine at a glance, but you can see where they cut corners if you spend any time in it. You get what you pay for.
