Does the Amo Mobility Jaunty Pro’s battery swapping feature really work in the real world?
The Jaunty Pro’s battery swapping capability has been billed as a game changer for electric scooters, promising to remove long charging times and extend its effective range. The real world implementation of this feature, however, has led to many discussions among users. The availability and distribution of battery swapping stations, the ease of the swapping process and the consistency of battery performance across swaps are all up for debate. While some users welcome its flexibility for longer journeys, there are others who are questioning whether it makes more sense than fast charging. Long term impact and costs of swapping on battery health are also concerns. Wider issues of electric vehicle infrastructure development in India and if battery swapping is a solution for range anxiety are also touched upon. It also questions the standardization of swappable batteries at different manufacturers and models.
At first, I did not believe, but battery swapping has been a game changer for me. I never worry about range because there’s a swap station near my office. It’s faster than filling up a petrol tank!
