It’s definitely more than marketing. Mahindra's been on fire with their SUVs lately, and this halo car could be a show of strength that they can hold their own with the big kids in the EV world. Plus it’ll probably help them attract top talent in engineering and design.

It's totally a gimmick, come on. Mahindra is making a super expensive electric sports car, and who’s gonna buy it? Instead of becoming the Indian Tesla, they should be making affordable EVs for the masses.

Is it so bad that it’s even marketing? It gets people excited about EVs, and might even inspire a new generation of engineers and designers. A moonshot from time to time can make things move forward.

We shouldn’t get too far ahead of ourselves. You can’t erase decades of perception with a fancy car. That's not going to convince people Indian engineering is on par with German or Japanese automakers.
What does Mahindra’s electric halo car mean for Indian automotive engineering's perception globally?

I’m worried that it’s going to blow up in my face. But if the car doesn't, it could also buttress the notion that Indian companies can't deliver on big promises. This has to be nailed, or we’re going to be set back.
